Faraway places, new found friends
Accolades gained, learned new trends
Months of traveling did them right
But both of them knew, it was time
Loren told Pryce:
"Time's come for us to go home,
We've been gone for far too long
Forever grateful, for you we will be,
Don't be a stranger when you happen by BG."
Pryce did his best to keep them from leaving,
Cash flows like water whenever Loren sings
Not to mention how well fed everyone has been
Now that AJ's the current kitchen king.
"A Bigger contract! Lodgings fit for royalty!
A major show in every city!"
But all these, Loren turned down.
All she wanted was to go back to the town,
That they call home and start her life
with AJ, as husband and wife,
Pryce sighed as there's no beating that,
Hard to negotiate with matters of the heart
He let them go, but before they left,
The talent scout gave each of them a gift
"Diamond earrings for my best singer,
And silver cufflinks for my favorite baker...
Don't you give me that look, AJ,
Promise me you'll wear them on your wedding day."
The couple promised to do so
Then bid farewell to the traveling show.
Without delay, they started their journey
Reaching BG within two weeks
They stepped in with the town asleep
Their arrival, their secret to keep
They quietly crept into the cafe,
treading carefully not to wake up Ray
When the boy did wake up, he was in for a surprise,
Muffins in the oven, doughs on the rise
There's freshly brewed coffee in his favorite cup,
And from the dining area, he heard people talk
"I know that voice!" the young man said,
Didn't waste a minute to see what it meant,
He ran to the dining room, and lo and behold,
AJ and Miss Loren, back in Busted Gulch!
He welcomed both with a tight embrace,
Extra bonus when Loren gave him a kiss
"When? How?" Ray laughed excitedly,
AJ answered with a grin.
"I'll tell you the story, kid, but first things first,
This town is in for a very big breakfast.
I'll fire up the wok, you handle the bread,
We'll cook up a feast to rouse everyone off their beds."
