**Three Months Later—Cameron’s Graduation Day**
I had a feeling that Dan wasn’t going to be at my graduation, but I send him the date and time anyway. He already set his whole tour back for me, and I couldn’t let him postpone anymore dates, and disappoint more people. But, I knew that he didn’t want to miss it, and since I interned with his friend, Mark Crew, who produced all of Bastille’s records, he made sure Mark came to see me in his place. My graduation day was snowy, and cold. Only me and a few other students were graduating, so there wasn’t a ceremony. It was just the few of us, standing in the Dean’s office, and the Dean handing us our diplomas. Mark picked me up from campus, holding a cupcake, while he leaned against the hood of his car. “Congratulations, Cam!” He smiled, after he lit the candle in the cupcake.
“Okay, the candle? Really? It’s not my birthday, I just graduated from college.” I laughed, and so did Mark. I blew out the candle anyway, and Mark opened his arms to hug me. As soon as he released me from the hug, Mark threw the cupcake, smashing it against my nose. “Mark!” I squealed, and then laughed as I wiped away the frosting from my eyes.
“That was a specific request from Dan.”
We were in tears laughing, “Why?” I punched him in the arm, not realising I just hit him in a fresh tattoo.
“Why don’t you ask him,” Mark tried to catch his breath, and ignore the pain that was coursing through his arm.
“What—“ I turned around, and there was Dan. Dan the fucking wonder. He was standing in the middle of the open campus, with a bouquet of roses.
“Congratulations, Cam,” he smiled, and I blinked. I couldn’t tell if he was real or not, but I ran into his arms. He picked me up, and spun me around in mid-air. This was a real life fairytale. I was dating a famous person, and he literally flew in from America to see me on my graduation day, with a bouquet of roses. He was really here. I almost forgot how much snow was on the ground, and how cold it was when I saw him again. “Come on, we have a plane to catch. We play in Philadelphia tomorrow.”
“What? We’re flying into Philly?” There was a huge grin across my face, I couldn’t wait to introduce Dan to my parents. It sounded cliche, but I wanted to marry him. There was no doubt in my mind that I wanted to start a family with him.
“Yes, you graduated just in time for us to go see your parents.” I kissed him, as soon as he finished that sentence.
“Bye guys! I have to go into work!” Mark yelled at us, as he got into his car and sped off. Leaving Dan and I to find his car so that we could go back to my flat and pack.
We pulled up in front of the flat that Kristie and I once shared. Since I got home from the hospital, Kristie moved in with Jeff, and Alex when home to Birmingham. I lived by myself, with Benny, who I was going to have to find a babysitter for. I called Caitlin, knowing how much she loved him. She agreed to come over as soon as she was finished her class. Dan paid my landlord for the next two months, and gave him all the money for my monthly bills that I would’ve needed to pay if I were there. I left Caitlin instructions on to where all of Benny’s things were, then quickly packed my suitcase that still wasn’t fully unpacked from California.
“You still have those?” Dan smiled at the pair of Minnie ears that he had bought for me, that he had that matching Mickey ears to.
I held them in my hands for a minute, reminiscing on how much fun we had. “Why would I ever get ride of these?” I placed them on my dresser, and continued to unpack, then repack.
