It's a Small World After All

Five minutes later we were pulling up to the front gates of Disneyland. We pulled up to the gate and Will asked for two one-day tickets then told the man behind the glass he needed to pick up four six-day tickets, whilst handing over his credit card.

“Who would the tickets be under?” Behind the glass, the man with the name tag that read ‘Aaron; San Antonio, Texas’ asked us in a deep southern twang, at least that's what I think his name tag said...

Reily looked at me and we both giggled.  “Black Fox Management? I think that’s what it is.” Will guessed, awkwardly grinning at Aaron.  He cringed, and Will dropped his smile.

“Here,  have a good night.”  Aaron handed Will all of the tickets and his credit card back.  The gate opened, and we drove through. We drove through, eventually finding parking spot across from the actual park, and looking for the monorail station to get across.

“Here!” Woody pushed his semi-long hair out of his face, and trotted over to a sign with arrows on it.  I couldn’t see since I didn’t have my glasses on.

We all followed Woody up a flight of stairs to the monorail.  The woman at the ticket booth asked to see our park tickets and we handed them to her.  “Black Fox Management?  Are you like famous or something?” She laughed to herself.  The woman was older, and was from Canada according to her name tag.  I read her tag in my mind, trying to decipher what it read, ‘Annette; Toronto, Canada.’  That’s what I thought I saw, but I could’ve been wrong.

Dan tried not to laugh, and covered it up as a cough.  “Do you know that song that’s on the radio a lot, Pompeii?” Kyle asked her, and Annette gave him a confused look.  “We’re the ones who sing that song.”

“You must be kidding.  You’re not Bastille, is it? My grandchildren love that song.  They’re probably the same age as those girls, they just turned sixteen and fourteen,” She laughed and I looked away from her, and over to Reily.  We weren’t as young as she thought we were, Reily and I had both turned twenty-three in March (her birthday) and May (mine).  I rolled my eyes at Annette, whilst the boys tried to get us tickets for the monorail.  There were a lot of people leaving, but not so many going into that park, since it was around dinner time for normal people. She finally gave us our tickets, and we were the first people on the monorail going into the park, after pushing through little kids, and baby carriages.  I snagged my foot on a diaper bag of a mom with three little ones, including what seemed to be a new born.  Dan watched me stumble, and took my arm to help steady me out.

“Thanks,” I put my hand on his shoulder to regain my balance, and breathed out a heavy sigh of relief.  “I’m super clumsy.  Sorry,” I straightened out and apologized.

Dan looked at me as if I was crazy, “Why? I’m pleased that I could keep you from falling… That sounded weird didn’t it?” We both laughed, and smiled at each other.  I liked him, even though I didn’t know much about him.  I knew somethings because of knowing about Bastille but not much.

We found seats on the monorail, and Dan and I sat by ourselves so that we could ‘talk,’ which mostly involved Dan talking, and awkward answers from me, or visa versa.

“So about what that woman said, who gave us our tickets,” Dan looked at me then blushed and smiled at his white converse.  “You don’t look your age… and I’m just assuming you’re over eighteen.  Please tell me you are, so I don’t get arrested.” He laughed and I chuckled alongside him.  I then pulled my drivers license out of my wallet, and showed it to him.

“It says that I’m twenty-three, so you probably won’t get arrested. Unless…” I trailed off and Dan smiled at me, and we laughed together again.  It felt nice making a celebrity laugh.  I wasn’t very popular in grade school, or high school really so making someone other than Reily or my parents laugh was pretty cool.  Dan and I continued to talk about music, and life, and music.
