A/N: sorry for taking so long to publish these. I'm focusing a bit more on school at the moment.
Huddled against a corner in a hallway, you let out a loud sob, wailing softly.
Alice had just taken away your only friend in this terrible hell. Everything hurt from the lift breaking and falling. You were scared, alone, and hurt.
One arm cradled against your chest, you pressed your face into your hand. Another sob escaped you as your knees moved up to your chest.
Footsteps approached you, and your head shot up. You instantly regretted it, your head pounding with pain. You winced, teeth gritting.
Your eyes first landed on the Boris, glancing at his metal arm. His glare told you that it certainly wasn't the one you knew. Your gaze then moved to the Alice, and you stiffened. But her face wasn't mutated, and her eyes were soft and worried.
You whimpered softly, pressing yourself further into the corner. The Alice took a step closer.
"We won't hurt you," she said softly. "We heard the lift, and..."
Her gaze turned to the rubble. It was a wonder that you had even survived. You shook your head, letting out another little sob.
"Boris," you whispered. He had grabbed you at the last moment, wanting to protect his friend.
Alice nodded, understanding. She glanced back at Tom- he seemed to be more relaxed than earlier.
They were silent, but seemed to talk to each other. After a few moments, she turned back to you.
"Come with us," she said softly. "We can help you, we have a safe place."
You frowned slightly, hiccuping. "... r-really?" You asked cautiously. You didn't know who to trust down here, as there was danger around pretty much every corner.
Allison nodded, ignoring Tom's confused look. "Yes," she told you, smiling softly. "Come on Tom, help me get them up-"
And with that, the two of them helped you back to their safe house. Along the way, you had learnt their names- Allison and Tom. Allison gently laid you down on a bed, humming softly. "You should get some rest," she told you. "It..."
Her words were quickly drowned out as your eyes closed, sleepiness creeping in.
You woke with a start, bolting up into a sitting position and gasping before gripping your arm in pain, peering at the large scrape on it.
How did you get here? Ah. It came back to you fairly quickly. You began to shake.
Boris... god, you missed him already. You glanced around the room, gaze resting on the open doorway. The soft murmer of a voice sounded from outside.
Standing up, you gripped onto your head. Fuck, that hurts- you made it to the doorway, peering out with a small frown.
Tom was the first to notice you. He tapped Allison's shoulder, motioning to you. She turned, a small smile gracing her admittedly very pretty face.
Wait, what?
"I'm glad that you're up," she hummed. "Its... been a few days."
She stepped closer. "I'm betting you're hungry," her gaze softened as you took a step back. "No, no, its fine, come on..."
She held her hand out, and for a moment you felt like a cornered animal. But you took her hand anyways, and she guided you over to a chair at the table. "I'll be back."
And with that, she left to a different room. Your gaze turned onto Tom, who was watching you distrustfully. You just offered him a hesitant smile. "I'm guessing it was her idea to help," you croaked, immediately coughing afterwards. Your throat felt like hell.
Tom paused, but nodded. He seemed to realize that you were too hurt to do anything harmful. His gaze turned on Allison when she appeared once again.
"Sorry," she said softly, setting the bowl of bacon soup in front of you, "it's all we have."
You didn't complain. With a grateful little smile, you lifted up the bowl and quickly began gulping it down.
Allison sat down in another seat, smiling softly at Tom in an attempt to ease him more. It worked- her friend leaned back in his chair with a soft huff.
Her smile widened slightly, and she turned back to you once you set the bowl down. "Better?"
You nodded, smiling slightly. Even your throat felt better. "Yeah," you replied softly. "Thank you."
She nodded. "I'm glad. I couldn't just leave you there, so..." she sighed softly. "How did the lift even fall?"
"Alice," you told them softly. Tom's ears went back, and you continued. "She broke the lift because- because I was with a perfect Boris, and..."
Allison reached over, gently taking your hand in hers. "We'll find him," she assured you, smiling at you. "I promise."
You were silent for a few moments, but a little grin soon appeared on your face. "Thank you," you murmured. "Thank you so much..."
She gave your hand a gentle squeeze. "You're welcome... you should get back into bed, you look exhausted..."
Helping you up, she led you back to the little cot of sorts. You got comfy in it, eyes fluttering shut.
She placed a light kiss to your forehead. "Goodnight, (Y/N)," she whispered softly, exiting the room.
