He counted the days.
The doctor said her heart will give up soon but he wouldn't have any of it. She can't just leave like this.
She has to wake up.
He needs her to.
Clayton stared at the girl he loved on a hospital bed, barely alive.
He's going through it again.
It's all repeating itself and he hates it.
Clayton lost his mother to brain cancer two years ago. He was devasted, but he had to be there for Zoe and his dad.
They all had to be strong.
And now that he's finally healing and at peace, life decides to take away another woman he loved.
It's not fair.
"Don't I deserve to be happy?" Clayton asked no one in particular.
Her hands were limp and cold, her face was pale and sunken.
Amy was always a bit of a skinny girl, but he didn't notice that it got this bad because of the cancer.
She was dying right in front of everyone's eyes yet they were too blind to see.
How would Mark take it? He thought.
Her mother?
Her friends?
Himself?
Clayton refused to cry, not one teardrop left his watery eyes.
"Please don't go..." He muttered, his voice cracking.
He felt pain.
