She walked into the school hallway, a smile plastered on her face.

Though it didn't feel real, it felt forced. She wasn't forcing herself to smile, she honestly didn't care as much.

But it was like her body automatically forced itself. It's complicated.

It was like she wanted to scream at the top of her lungs that she was breaking but at the same time she didn't want to seem desperate or fake.

That smile alone defined everything she was feeling inside.

She made it to her locker and pulled it open, the heavy feeling that seemed to fill her chest ever since she received the news still remained.

"Amy, hi." A voice called from behind her.

Her lips formed into a straight line from annoyance but it found itself curling upward when she turned around.

"Oh, hi Maddie," Amy's voice sounded rather enthusiastic than what she actually felt.

The brunette's smile widened, "have you seen Deborah?"

The question caught Amy off guard. Her best friend wasn't in school yet? Classes are starting in about two minutes. Deborah is never late.

Somethings up.

"No, why?"

"Oh, I just wanted to confirm. Rumours say she's skipping school today."

With that said, Maddie left.

Amy was more than shocked, Deborah would never skip school. This whole heart break fiasco was worse than she thought.

But why and how could it lead Deborah to ditching school?

She felt confused.
