Amy looked down at her phone with a sigh.

Still no reply.

"Hello." She looked up at the voice. "What would you like to order?" The boy asked. He seemed awfully familiar. She bit her lip in thought as she tried to recall who he was. "Are you there?"

"Oh, right." Amy mumbled, her cheeks went red and she hid her blushing face in the menu. "I'll have a cup black coffee. And two cinnamon rolls." The boy gave her a smile and left.

Clayton.

She suddenly remembered who he was. She wished she'd see him again. Amy waited patiently for her order and hoped he would be the one to serve it.

"Here you go." Clayton placed the food on her table. Amy's mouth immediately watered at the sight, she couldn't wait to dig in. "Wow. You look really hungry."

"I am." Amy replied and smiled at the boy. "This place is really nice." She complemented before he could leave.

"Thanks." He said."I've been working here for a while now."

"How long?" Amy asked, she hoped to stall him long enough so he'd remember her.

"A month." He replied. "Are you looking for a job?" He asked.

Amy considered. Why not? "Not really, but I would love to work here." She said.

"Don't be afraid to ask any of the staff." He said cheerfully. "We do need another waiter."

Amy nodded. She had to think of something. "Do people use that stage?" Amy said, pointing to the small stage at the from of the room, on it there were two stools and two microphones already placed on stands. There was also a screen that displayed the name of the shop.

"Oh yeah." He replied. "It's for karaoke. If you want to participate, just tell our cashier and she'll sign you up." He pointed to a blonde woman behind a counter, attending to a customer.

"Every night people sign up for a competition. You have to perform any song of your choice on that stage, the crowd votes their favorite act. And the winner gets a free meal." he explained.

"Smart." Amy said. "I don't think I'll ever participate, I'm a terrible singer."

"You can't be that bad." Clayton said. "Next time you come, you should sign up, you'd do great - with my awesome help of course." Amy shook her head at him.

"Lies." Amy sang. "All lies."

Clayton cringed. "I see why you don't want to sing."

They both laughed. After the laughter died Amy realized she didn't have anything else to stall him with, he still didn't remember her. Her smile faltered slightly.

"Thanks." She said. "Thank you for the information. This place is awesome, I'll be sure to come back tomorrow." Clayton gave her a smile and began to walk away. He turned back to her as if he remembered something.

Maybe he remembers. Amy hoped.

"You can leave your cash on the table." He said. "Someone will come and pick it up." She sighed.

"Oh, okay." She replied, and took a bite out of her cinnamon roll, it tasted amazing but didn't take away the disappointment she held in her heart.

"And also bring your little five year old brother along with you when you come tomorrow."

Amy's heart fluttered.

"You remember me?"

"Of course." he smirked. "How can I forget a face as pretty as yours," he winked and walked away.

Amy's grin was so wide it hurt her cheeks. She crossed her arms in amusement. He knew who she was all along, that's why he chose to be her waiter.

She felt remembered.
