Amy stopped the car, "here we are."
"Thanks," Clayton smiled, he turned to her with his eyes seeming a bit nervous. "Um, see you tomorrow?"
Amy nodded feeling her breath clogged up in her throat, staying in such a small place with him made her breathless. "Definitely."
Clayton got out of the car and walked to his porch, then he turned giving Amy one last wave as she drove off.
At this point all she could think about was how she wished she could spend some more time with him. She loved the way he made her feel, she loved how he made her breathless and her heart thump in her chest.
As Amy hit the brakes on the red traffic light she realised something.
She's falling for Clayton. Hard.
If that's a good thing why does she feel like it's a bad idea?
-
"Amy," her little brother called from the backseat of her car, "do they have chocolate ice cream?" The little boy asked.
Amy laughed, "I'm not sure if they do Mark, we have to get there to know."
He pouted, "if they don't have chocolate ice cream I'm going to be ver disappointed at you Amy," he said, raising a small finger at her from the backseat.
Amy rolled her eyes, she still couldn't understand her little brothers big obsession with chocolate. He can't go a week without it.
Amy parked the car and hopped out, she saw mark was already out and running towards the cafe.
Her eyes widened and she ran after him, he already bolted into the store. Amy ran in seconds after.
Seconds too late.
"Mark is in the house!" The boy yelled, "I would like a scoop of chocolate ice cream with chocolate sprinkles please!"
Amy slammed her hand on his mouth shutting him up and sending apologetic looks at people around her.
When she found a table she placed Mark on a seat, "Mark! You promised you'd behave," any scolded.
The little boy smiled, "I crossed my fingers," he said, raising his crossed fingers.
Amy shook her head at him, "you can take off your glasses now. No ones going to look at your eyes," Amy told him.
Mark held on to his dark sunglasses he begged his mom to buy for him and shook his head, "no way Amy. You said in going to meet a girl, she'll make fun of my eyes."
When Mark was born he was diagnosed with Heterochromia, meaning he has two different eye colours. Most people with Heterochromia it not really that visible, but Mark's can be seen after on glance.
He has one blue eye and one green eye. People in his classes seem to make fun of hi eye colour so it became a very sensitive topic for him. But I would totally date a guy with two different eye colours, he's going to be a real heartbreaker when he grows up.
"Hey, Amy," a voice called. Amy looked away from her brother and looked up at Clayton. "Glad you could make it."
"Hi," Amy said with a grin.
She noticed the familiar little girl from the park, her hair was down, letting her wild brown curls out.
The first thing she noticed about the girl was that she is beautiful, it shook Amy that a girl this young could look so effortlessly stunning.
"This is Zoe," Clayton said as he took a seat, he wasn't wearing his uniform meaning he's not working.
Amy smiled at the little girl and she smiled back shyly, "hi," she mumbled.
"Hi Zoe, I'm Amy," Amy introduced and Zoe grinned at her.
"I feel like everyone has forgotten I exist."
Amy rolled her eyes at her little brother, "this is Mark, my very annoying little brother," she said.
"Nice to meet you man, I'm Clayton," Clayton introduced with a high five.
"Cool," Mark nodded, lowering his voice a little. Amy couldn't help but laugh, he's trying o hard to seem cool.
"Why are you wearing sunglasses?" Zoe asked.
Mark tensed, "um...no reason," he muttered, unconsciously adjusting the glasses.
"There has to be, why else would you were them indoors," Zoe points out. "Don't worry, I won't judge," Zoe smiled.
Mark looked at his sister and she gave him an encouraging nod. He took them off and Zoe gasped.
Mark winced, but the insults never came, "wow, your eyes are really cool. I wish my eyes were like that," Zoe complemented.
"You think my eyes are cool?" Mark asked in disbelief.
"Yeah, why hide them? They're really beautiful," Zoe said and Mark smiled.
"Can I ask you a question?" Mark asked and Zoe nodded, "do you like chocolate?"
"Yeah, sure. Why?"
"You are officially my new best friend."
Clayton and Amy laughed as the two chatted on, "you're brother is quite the character," Clayton says.
Amy shrugged, "you have no idea," she said without keeping her eyes off the two.
She felt amused.
