16~ birthday

Right before the police found me that night getting beat by my parents, I told myself I wasn't going to live through the whole year and make it to my 16th birthday. The thought of me turning 16 was only a dream and having a good family to celebrate it was another imagination that I had constantly. But that imagination is a reality and I'm honestly glad it is. I know I wouldn't be here if Tyler and Jenna didn't see me that day. Now here I am December 23rd now a 16 year old. I would say it's all good but we leave for tour today. I've been panicking so much about it.  Since I have nothing original I'm playing covers, and songs Tyler refuses to put on the set list.  If you told me a year ago I would be going on tour with twenty one pilots..

I would probably have slapped you in the face.

I look at my suitcase on more time before zipping it up, I practically packed everything I owned, including my ukulele and a travel keyboard to practice on the road with. Tyler said I could use his actual piano when I performed. The thought of me performing in front of hundreds of people scared me.

"Crystal please come down with your stuff we are going to be late!" Jenna screamed. I quickly grabbed all my stuff and headed downstairs.

"There's the birthday girl" Tyler cheered along with josh and Jenna.

I turned around to see a cake that had "happy birthday crystal" written on it. The whole crew was in the house singing happy birthday to me. I blew out the candles happily and we all ate the cake.

After a while I started taking "so where to first?"

Josh decided to talk while shoving a piece of cake in his mouth, "Well..tomorrow we are playing in Pittsburgh, so the trip there shouldn't be long.."

"And when we get there we are going to see a football game!!" Mark cheered

I start to laugh and all I see is Tyler standing in the corner of the room rolling his eyes, " we thought you know we can spend some time doing something and tonight they have a football game so we are going to it"

"Cool who are the teams?"

Tyler looks at his phone then begins to talk, " the Steelers and Saints I think"

I nod and Tyler helps me pack my stuff onto the bus. While we are doing stuff Jenna comes back into the house while I'm grabbing my uke "tonight's going to be great crystal you will love it"

I smile and grab my hoodie and me and Jenna head on the tour bus.

As we enter I look around, "damn this is bigger than I thought it would be" I cover my mouth instantly and all I hear is Tyler laughing.

"Well crystal of this was any other day I would have yelled at you. But it's your birthday so I can't. Also here I'll give you a tour"

He showed me around a little and showed me my bunk. I had the very top and was above josh. I laugh realizing I won't ever go to bed normally because josh loves to pull pranks, and this was a perfect place for him to. Tyler finishes the tour and we go back to the main area where everyone was.

"Alright who wants to play uno" mark yells we all agree and we just play till we get to Pittsburgh.

"No fair josh you can't use the color card as your last one" I pout as josh is jumping in his seat.

"But crystal i just did so I won" josh smirked.

We played a few more rounds until we all got hungry.

"Okay," Tyler started "where do you want to get food crystal"

Without any hesitation I shout, "Taco Bell?"

We all put in our orders and sit down. Without noticing I began to tap very loudly. Tyler noticed a while back I would do this when i was nervous about something even if I didn't know what. He comes over next to me while I'm eating my taco on the bus and starts to talk.

"You good?"

I shrug my shoulders not knowing what to say.

"Listen everything tomorrow will be okay, besides we have a football game to go to tonight and we all are going to have fun. If there is any reason something makes you uncomfortable, sad, anxious, please come to me okay? I've felt all of those things and I have ways to cope with them."

I nod and smile trying pretend that everything was going to be okay, "thanks Tyler"

He stands up "we are leaving in 5 minutes so you better get ready"

I nod and go to get changed.

Since it is very cold out I decided to wear a heavy coat. I luckily packed sweatpants so I put those on and I bring a fuzzy blanket because I will get very cold. I come out and everyone's ready. "Alright let's go"

The game was pretty cool. The home team won which was also cool but I wasn't too invested in the game. Something the whole night wasn't right. I had a guilty feeling in my stomach and I still do. It just keeps getting more and more intense.

I find Tyler "hey if you need me I'll be in the bathroom" he nods and I walk towards the bathroom making sure no one is around.

"What this time neo?"

First off happy birthday, didn't think you would make it to 16 that special. And nextly just a little heads up. No one at the concert tomorrow will actually like you. They only will because you got adopted buy Tyler Joseph they won't care.

The tears begin to form in my eyes

Awe crying so soon? Just give up god dammit, you're worthless and you know it. Just tell me

I've had enough, I scream, "I'm done with you neo!!"

I run out of the bathroom and everyone stairs at me. All I can think of doing is running to my bunk and shutting my curtain.

Some kind of birthday this came to be.
