When I awoke, I saw that the brown Zippleback and a few other dragons were gone. The only dragons still remaining were the green Gronckle, the purple Deadly Nadder, a dark red Monstrous Nightmare, and a Speed Stinger. A couple hunters were having a hard time trying to grab the Speed Stinger from its cage without getting stung.
"You aren't taking me anywhere, hunters!" he growled, going to try and sting one of the hunters again.
"Let's just move on to another dragon." one of the hunters stated before they walked over to the Nightmare, muzzling it, wrapping a chain around its neck, and pulling it above deck. I stood up and stretched. Suddenly, the Speed Stinger started biting the bars of his cage, trying to break free.
"It's no use. These are dragon proof cages." I remarked. The Speed Stinger looked at me sadly before hissing when a few more hunters came in accompanied by a hunter I knew all too well.
"Hello, Pest." the hunter hissed.
"Ryk." I greeted, smirking.
"I'm surprised you haven't tried to escape yet." Ryker remarked, crossing his arms as he stopped in front of me.
"Well you see. I would've been out of this cage, as well as every dragon that had been on this ship, but I seem to have left my dagger with my dragon." I responded. He rolled his eyes and opened the cage door. "What's this? Are you setting me free?" I asked, sarcasm dripping off my tongue.
"Shut up, Pest. My brother wants to meet you." Ryker growled, grabbing my arm and dragging me above deck.
"Why does he want to meet me?" I asked after Ryker pushed me forward.
"Don't ask questions or I'll cut out your tongue." Ryker threatened. I crossed my arms and walked through the hunter's camp, following the direction Ryker pushed me in every twenty seconds. Finally, a big tent made of dragon hide with a dragon skull above the entrance came into view.
"That's where we're going, isn't it?" I asked, pointing it out.
"What did I say about questions?" Ryker barked.
"Sorry." I mumbled, not actually meaning it. After a couple more minutes, we were right in front of the tent. Ryker stepped forward and opened the flap, gesturing for me to go inside. Cautiously, I stepped inside to see a man who I'd never seen before. He had really dark brown hair, a French-cut beard, and deathly calm dark brown eyes. He looked up from a board with pieces on it that Hiccup called 'Maces and Talons'.
"I see you've brought our guest, Ryker." the man stated. I heard Ryker scoff before he pushed me into the chair in front of the man's desk. "What is your name?" the man asked.
"Melia the Merciful." I responded.
"Well then. Melia, what do you know about the dragon eye?" I looked at him with a blank expression. I knew what the dragon eye was, but I never actually used it.
"I know it's a weird dragon fire thing that Hiccup uses, but I've never used it." I answered. The man shared glances with Ryker before looking back at me.
"Why is it that you haven't used the dragon eye?" the man asked. I shrugged.
"Just don't really need it. When it comes to dragons I trust my own knowledge, not somebody elses." Unexpectedly, he stood up from his seat behind the desk and looked me in the eyes.
"Why don't we have a walk around the base and we can talk some more. I'm rather interested in what you have to say." the man stated before walking towards the entrance and pushing one of the tent flaps aside. I looked up at Ryker who shrugged before I got up and followed the man out of the tent. "I don't believe we have been introduced." the man stated, putting a hand on my shoulder, guiding me towards a dirt path in between dragon proof cages. "I am Viggo Grimborn."
<So... Little breakdown of the relationship between Ryker and Melia... As you can see, Ryker doesn't really like my OC. He calls her pest and basically just despises her to no end. Melia however, has a small tolerance for Ryker. In short, she doesn't have the same burning fire of hatred that Ryker has for her, but she tends to annoy him with the nickname she's given him along with her spunky attitude. Anyway, hope you enjoyed chapter 2. Thx 4 reading. Bye!>
