Heart of a Dragon Whisper (An RTTE Fanfic)

Chapter 31

I pressed myself low on Lilac's back, watching Gruff and Ruff over Lilac's shoulder. We were high enough that they didn't see us just yet. At least, I hoped. 

"Melia. Look. Dead ahead." Lilac growled. I glanced past the green and brown Zippleback we had been following to where there was a ship. 

"That must be the dragon hunters Gruff owes." I thought aloud. "Stay out of sight, Lilac. We don't want to be caught just yet." Suddenly, Ruffnut pulled up, making Barf and Belch hover above the cloud line. I patted Lilac's held and she stopped, hovering as well as we watched. Ruffnut looked like she was yelling at Gruff, pointing Macey at him in a threatening manner. 

"Looks like Ruff's figured it out." Lilac commented. I hummed in agreement, watching as Ruff continued to yell at Gruff. She then was about to turn Barf and Belch around when Gruff forced them down towards the ship. 

"Thor almighty. Quick, Lilac! After them!" Lilac flew after the diving Zippleback, flying at high speed. 

"Melia!" I looked over my shoulder to see Hiccup and the real Tuffnut on Toothless's back. 

"Gruff's going to sell Barf and Belch to a bunch of dragon hunters if he gets to that ship." I called to them. The next thing I knew, Tuffnut was jumping off of Toothless yelling, 

"Ballista-Nut" as he dove after Barf and Belch. 

"Did he actually have a plan or is he committing suicide?" Lilac asked, glancing at me over my shoulder. 

"After him, Lilac!" I exclaimed, pressing myself to her as she dove after the falling Nut. I narrowed my eyes at the falling Tuffnut before noticing something on his back. "Lilac, wait!" I ordered, pulling back on her so she went from a dive to a glide. Tuffnut whizzed past Barf and Belch before spreading the wings of Hiccup's flight invention, soaring next to Barf and Belch before knocking Gruffnut onto Barf and Belch's back. "Yeah, Tuffnut!" I cheered as Lilac roared in joy. I looked down at the ship, only then noticing how close they were to it now. "Lilac, we need to help Barf and Belch." I remarked, noticing how the hunters were aiming their chain launchers. Both Lilac and Toothless fired a plasma blast at the chain right before it hit Barf and Belch. I watched as Tuff and Gruff fought on Barf and Belch's back, throwing punches and kicks at each other. Finally, Tuffnut beat Gruffnut using Macey, knocking him off of Barf and Belch. I watched as he plummeted towards the hunter ship. "We should probably save him." I stated, watching as he landed on top of a hunter, more hunters surrounding him. 

"Are you sure? We could just leave him as payback for trying to steal me and for flirting with you." Lilac suggested, earning a laugh from me. 

"As great as that would be, we're not monsters." Lilac groaned, but dove for the ship anyway, swooping down to grab Gruff by the shoulders. Lilac waited till we were far enough away from the hunter ship before dropping Gruff, swooping underneath him so he landed behind me on her back. 

"I knew you'd fall victim to my charms, beautiful." Gruffnut remarked, putting his hands on my hips. I forcefully removed his hands and half turned to glare at him, baring my teeth in a snarl. 

"Touch me again and I throw you off my dragon. Your flirting doesn't work on me and it never will. There is no way in all of Valhalla that I would court you, now or ever." I growled. 

"But I..." 

"No buts! I am seeing someone and even if I wasn't, you'd be the last person I'd court. Even if you were the last person on Earth, I wouldn't court you. Do I make myself clear, Nut?" Gruffnut snapped his mouth shut and nodded sullenly. "Good. Now, no talking the rest of the way to the Edge." I told him turning back around. Lilac chuckled, praising my good work in scaring the bratty Thorston into silence, and honestly, it felt good to get all that off my chest. As we flew back to the Edge, I started to think up a way to get back at Gruffnut for all the stupid things he's done. 

<So if you guys don't know, 'courting' is basically an old fashioned word for dating. Also, I realize I'm updating a lot more chapters within a short time span. I am only doing this because I want to get through this episode and move on. Hope you guys enjoy>
