"Well... That could've gone worse." I huffed, looking over my shoulder at Mala. "You okay?" Mala nodded, dismounting Lilac with me. It was definitely a close call flying over the ocean of lava, but it worked out. Glancing down at the ground, I saw a torch hilt on the ground. I picked it up, wrapping a piece of cloth from my satchel around the top before holding it out for Lilac to light. Lilac let out a soft plasma blast, setting the torch ablaze immediately. "C'mon. We should get this egg to it's hatching sight quick." I suggested.

"Agreed." Mala started forward, Lilac and myself in tow. As I glanced around, I noticed how there were lots of tunnels marking the walls.

"Funny. These tunnels remind me of those of a Whispering Death, but they seem more natural." I muttered to myself, pausing in front of one, shining the torch's flame up the tunnel. Suddenly, a voice echoed through the caves.

"Egg!" I whirled around, swinging the torch every which way, trying to find where the voice had come from.

"Melia, is everything alright?" I turned, seeing Mala and Lilac had stopped to look back at me.

"Y-Yeah. I just... I thought I heard something."

"I'm sure it was nothing. Come. We must transport the egg to the end of these caverns and quickly." Mala stated, continuing on.

"Right." I followed, Lilac waiting until I was right next to her before starting to walk again. "You heard it too, right?" I muttered, glancing at her. Lilac looked up at me and nodded. "Keep on high alert. There's something in these caves that wants the egg." What felt like hours, even though it was probably more like a few minutes, passed before I paused, holding my torch up to the wall curiously, illuminating something etched in the stone.

"What is it?" Mala asked as she stepped up beside me.

"Looks like cave drawings. Curious." I stepped closer, running my hand over the etchings in the stone.

"There was a time when the tribal elders would climb down into these caverns and sacrifice themselves for the greater good of the tribe."

"That explains the Vikings and the egg, but what of the dragons flying above." I wondered aloud, studying the picture. The dragons etched in the wall seemed to resemble Night Terrors, but what would Night Terrors have to do with an Eruptodon egg?

"Egg!" Mala, Lilac, and I glanced in the direction we were headed, the voice having echoed once more through the caverns.

"Egg!"

"Egg!" We turned to where we had come, more calls bouncing off the smooth stone walls.

"What is that?" Mala asked. I held up my torch, narrowing my eyes at the darkness before us, gasping as hundreds of glowing red eyes flew towards us.

"Lilac, protect Mala and the egg!" I cried, stepping defensively in front of Mala as red eyed dragons resembling Night Terrors circled around us, screeching one thing and one thing only,

"Egg!"

"The carving must have been warning us of these dragons!" I cried as the torch is knocked from my hand.

"What do we do?!" Lilac exclaimed, darting her head around at all the dragons. I quickly grabbed the torch again, holding it up to see that the dragons had red scales before one of them sucked the flame right off the base of the torch.

"Flame eaters?! Really?!" Lilac sent a plasma blast at the torch, lighting it once more.

"No!" The both of us turned to see Mala clutching the satchel with the egg protectively, three Flame Eaters surrounding her. Lilac roared, bounding forward as she sent a sonar blast at the Flame Eaters. "Melia! No! Lilac!" Mala cried as she tried her hardest to keep her grip on the satchel's strap. Suddenly, the Flame Eaters grabbed the egg out of the satchel and flew off, leaving a devastated Mala behind.

<Yes, I named the dragons Flame Eaters and yes, it was just off the top of my head. I was originally going to name them Fire Terrors or Flame Terrors, but Flame Eaters sounded cooler. Anyway, Melia, Lilac, and Mala lost the Eruptodon egg. Now what? Tell me what you think will happen in the next chapter. Ta ta!>
