I followed close behind Gruffnut who had disguised himself as Tuffnut, watching him as we walked into the clubhouse.
"Sad news everyone. Gruffnut... Uh, Gruffnut had someplace really awesome he had to go to, and so, now, he's gone for a while." I rolled my eyes, honestly surprised by how everyone was buying Gruff's stupid impression.
"I told you so." Ruff stated.
"Oh, yeah, you did. Told me what?"
"Make you worship him and then leave like he always does." I answered for Ruff.
"Well, why wouldn't I... Uh... Why wouldn't I worship him? Gruffnut is awesome."
"No, he isn't! He's a phony."
"Uh. Maybe he is a phony, but if he's smart enough to fool people, that's their fault."
"What?" both Hiccup and Toothless say, surprised.
"Tuff's just saying something that Gruffnut would say as an example of how utterly idiotic his cousin was." I supplied for Gruff, earning a glance that was a mixture of a glare and an appreciative look.
"Now, you've given me a lot to think about. So, I... I guess, I, Tuffnut, will go think about it." I watched as Gruff exited the clubhouse, shaking my head as he left my view.
"Just when you thought Tuffnut couldn't get any weirder." Fishlegs commented.
"You have no idea." I remarked, turning to go follow Gruff. On my way out, I noticed Chicken standing on the edge of the platform, staring down at Gruffnut. "You know, don't you." Chicken looked up at me and clucked. "Why am I talking to you. I speak dragon, not chicken." I lectured myself, climbing down the ladder to follow Gruff. Gruff and I walked down to the stables, Gruffnut holding a fish.
"Alright, let me handle this, beautiful. Wouldn't want you getting hurt." I raised my hands in surrender, leaning against one of the beams. "Hookfang. It's me, Tuffnut. Ugh. Your old buddy. You don't mind if I take you for a little spin, do ya?" Gruffnut bribed.
"Yes! I would mind because there's no way you are Tuffnut!" Hookfang snarled.
"Umm... Nut? You might want to be careful." I suggested. Gruffnut glanced over at me, raising an eyebrow at me.
"Why?" That was Gruffnut's mistake. Turning his back on a pissed Monstrous Nightmare.
