I leaned against one of the poles that held up the wooden platform above me, my arms crossed and one of my legs propped against the pole. I watched as Viggo and Ryker discussed some things before they started. Suddenly, Ryker briefly pointed someone out to Viggo, whispering to him. I followed where Ryker was pointing and saw a shady man sitting next to Snotlout's blonde twin. The man wore a purple cloak with the hood up and looked slightly annoyed from what I could tell from my vantage point. I decided that whoever that man was, he wasn't important at the moment. I switched my gaze back to the platform where Viggo started talking. He spoke for a little bit before pulling the canvas off of the cage that had been rolled up behind him, revealing a Speed Stinger locked inside the cage and... The twins?!
"I'm making it rain. It's raining gold." Sir Olgerthon stated, throwing gold coins into the air. I raised an eyebrow in confusion before realizing that they weren't two men that looked like Snotlout and Gobber. They were Snotlout and Gobber!
"I knew I recognized him! He's a dragon rider! Cease them! Cease them all!" Viggo ordered, pointing at the twins. I tilted my head downwards as hunters walked Snotlout and Gobber past me, my gaze following them. I kept my head down a while longer before looking up only to come face to face with Viggo. Our eyes stayed locked together for a bit. Finally, Viggo broke the connection by stepping to the side so that he was right next to me, a small smirk on his face.
"Not exactly what I had in mind when you said the riders were going to sabotage the auction." Viggo stated, watching as a couple hunters walked the twins off the platform.
"In all honesty, it wasn't what I'd been expecting either. I mean, Snotlout!? Hiccup could've picked anyone and he picked my best friend's idiot brother!?" Viggo laughed at my reaction, putting a hand on my shoulder. I looked up at him, surprised. He turned his head towards me, confusion showing in his eyes when he saw my expression.
"Is everything alright?"
"Yes, it's just... I've never heard you laugh before. Not a genuine one anyway." I confessed. "I... I like hearing you laugh." Viggo looked like he was in a trance, his eyes not moving from mine. Suddenly, Viggo cleared his throat moving his hand off my shoulder and clasping both behind his back as he stepped back a couple paces.
"I have to go see that our... 'guests' are welcomed properly. Do you mind keeping our special guest occupied until I get back?" Viggo asked, gesturing towards the hooded man that Snotlout had been annoying earlier. Since then, the man had gotten up and was now standing on a platform, looking down upon everything with a woman in a dark blue cloak standing next to him, the hood of her cloak pulled over her head. I turned back to Viggo, nodding as he turned to leave. I somewhat thought I was going crazy as I started walking to join the hooded man on the platform, but out of my peripheral vision, I could've sworn I saw Viggo turn his head slightly, a warm and surprisingly genuine smile adorning his face.
<OMG! So, so, so sorry everyone! If I had known it had been since I last updated, I would've updated sooner. *Looks over the chapter to make sure I have everything* Huh?
