"Hey. Wake up." someone ordered, their voice very close. I was going to ignore them, thinking they were probably talking to someone else until someone nudged me gently with their foot. I opened my eyes and raised my hood, looking up to see two things. One, the sun had set leaving the sky dark and covered in stars and two, there was a dragon hunter standing over me.
"Can I help you?" I asked, irritated that I had been woken.
"We've arrived at Sleipnir Island. Ryker wants you to help unload the supplies." the hunter explained. I groaned, but knew if I didn't do what I was told, Ryker would give me crap for it, so I got to my feet, stretching before gesturing for the hunter to show me what I needed to do. For about an hour, I helped three other hunters carry tents and a few crates from the ship, onto the island, and towards the edge of the forest. After we finished unloading the supplies, we started setting up the tents. As I was setting up tents, I made sure to set one up for myself far from the rest of the group, lodged in between two trees just inside the forest's border. After setting up my tent, I noticed a couple Terrible Terrors had landed on top of it.
"Are you guys guarding my tent for me?" I asked jokingly.
"We can if you want." one of them chirped. I nodded in thanks before turning to see if I could find Ryker. I scoured the campsite before finally catching sight of a tent that was slightly larger than the others. There was no doubt in my mind that that was Ryker's tent. I walked up to it and called out for Ryker, waiting for a response before entering.
"What do you want, Pest?" Ryker asked from where he sat, sharpening one of his swords.
"I was wondering if there was anything else you needed me to do before I retired for the night." Ryker glanced up at me before gesturing to a brown bag that sat on a crate.
"Take that to your hut and keep it safe." Ryker ordered, going back to sharpening his blade. I walked up to it and took the bag, weighing in my hands. It was pretty heavy.
"What's in here?"
"The bounty for whoever brings in the one-legged rider." I glanced over at him before looking back at the bag, placing it down on the crate again. I opened it, surprised when I was met with a load of rocks instead of gold.
"This is a bag of rocks." I remarked, looking up at Ryker who was grinning.
"I know." he said, chuckling darkly. I raised an eyebrow at him before realizing something. The bounty was all a rouse. It was just a way to get more people looking for Hiccup. A way to assure he would be brought straight to the hunters. I closed the bag and picked it up once more, carrying it out of the tent and towards mine. When I got inside my own, I dropped the back down in the corner of my tent, looking up when one of the Terrors flew in, landing on my shoulder.
"Do you think you can watch over this bag of rocks while I sleep?" I asked, petting its head. It gave me a quick nod before fluttering down to land on the bag, sitting on it. I nodded in satisfaction before going over to lie down on my cot, pulling my cloak around like a blanket as I drifted off to sleep.
<Again. I know these are short, but I'm making these on my phone. Don't judge. Can't wait to get to the part where we get to see those special people from the auction. *mischievous laughter*>
