Heart of a Dragon Whisper (An RTTE Fanfic)

Chapter 19

I sat in the captain's quarters, my elbows resting on the desk with my hands holding up my head. We were far enough from Caldera Cay that I couldn't even see it. After helping the hunters that were on the ship with me set sail, I asked Leafblender to cloak until I told him otherwise before retiring to the captain's quarters. Suddenly, the boat jerked violently and I had to use the desk to catch myself before I fell. Once I was sure the boat wasn't going to jerk again, I stood up and made my way to the door. I was a foot away from the door when it was slammed open and a frantic looking hunter rushed in. 

"Miss... we're under... attack!" the hunter informed through deep breaths. 'I should start learning the names of all the hunters.' I thought before asking the hunter if the people attacking were the riders. He nodded, giving me a nervous look. 

"Don't worry. This is exactly what Viggo planned." I assured him before pushing past so I could get to the main deck. I instinctively pulled my hood over my head and tugged my gloves higher up my wrists before walking up to the main deck. As I studied the dragons and riders, I noticed that Tuff, Ruff, and Heather were missing and there was a woman sitting behind Snotlout. 

"Dragon riders! Fire the arrows!" I ordered, pointing at the dragons. The hunters followed my orders, good thing was that they had terrible aim. Suddenly, Stormfly dove towards me and the hunter standing next to me, blasting searing hot fire at us. I ducked, covering my head with my arms only to look up when the fire didn't hit us directly. Standing in front of me and the hunter was an uncloaked Leafblender. 

"Good boy." I commented, scratching him under his chin before hopping onto his back. "Don't tell the riders anything." I ordered the hunter next to me before nudging Leafblender gently in the side. In response, he jumped into the air, taking for the clouds. Storm seemed to notice me because she chased me above the cloud line. I then had Leafblender pause midair and turn towards Storm who had Starfire pause as well. 

"A Changewing? Really?" Storm commented. 

"Hey, how else did you expect me to sneak away the first time?" I asked. 

"Okay, I see your point. So where's the Eruptodon?" 

"It's not on my ship. Viggo and Ryk have it." 

"And where are they?" I paused to think for a moment, picturing the map in my mind. 

"They went South. That's all I know." I remarked. I then had Leafblender swoop farther into the clouds before cloaking.
