"Sometimes I get fed up with all the games
Sometimes you all just act the same
Maybe I'm the one to blame
That's just how the game goes
When your feeling alone
Everybody got somebody that they mess with on the low" I sung along to H.E.R while I folded my freshly washed clothes

My phone vibrated and I smiled, seeing that I had a text from my boyfriend. I opened the message and my smile faded.

Christian ❤️
I'm sorry baby but I'm busy this weekend. Maybe you can stay next weekend.
3:45PM

I tossed my phone onto my bed, not even bothering to respond. He's always been so 'busy' lately. I barely get to see him anymore other than on FaceTime.

I stuffed my clothes into my drawers before I headed downstairs. I walked through the kitchen and sat at the table.

"Just the people I needed to see." I smiled at my parents.

"What is it now?" My mom dried her hands off.

"I wanted to talk to you about me having a job."

"What? You? A job? Nooo." My dad sarcastically spoke

"Ha ha. Very funny dad. I'm serious."

"Ok." My mom walked over. "Where is this place?"

"That's what I needed to talk to you about. It's actually a babysitting job."

"That's a big responsibility." My mom sat down

"Yes." My dad agreed. "That's a whole person you have to look after."

"I know. But I can do it."

"Whose baby is it?"

I nervously chewed at my lip. "It's one of my friends. He just needs me to watch his daughter some days after school so he can get his work done."

"So it's a he." My dad crossed his arms. "Does he have a name?"

I nodded. "It's Dave."

"And what does this Dave do?" My dad raised an eyebrow

"He's a rapper." I lowly spoke.

"A what?" My mom spoke

"A rapper." I sighed

"So you're gonna be watching a wannabe rapper's daughter?" My mom questioned

"He's well known actually. His rap name is Dave East."

"Dave East? I think I've heard of him." My dad sat down. "How do you know him? Do you think you can do this without it affecting your school? You know you still have track practice. We've been lenient with the piano lessons lately."

"Well he had a album signing at the mall and I went to it. I know I can manage everything. I already planned it out and he knows about my track practice days." I looked back and forth between my parents

My dad sighed and looked at my mom. "Ok. You can do it but the first time your grades slip, that's it, you're done."

"Thank you!" I jumped up and hugged them both
