"Do you need me to drop you off?" I looked over at Diamond as I put my shirt on

"Nah. My mom is coming to get me."

I nodded and pulled on my leggings.

"You good?" She raised an eyebrow

"Great" I smiled

She opened her mouth to say something but my mom's yelling cut her off. "Diamond! Your mom is here!"

She sighed. "I'll see you later." She grabbed her bag and disappeared out of my room.

I put my hair up into a bun and then turned all the lights out. I made sure I had my keys and my bag before going downstairs.

"You out?" My brother asked as he followed me down the stairs

"Yep. I'll be back later." I walked into the kitchen and grabbed a bag of chips.

"Make sure you put on a jacket." My mom looked up from the magazine she was reading. "And tell David I said Hi."

I rolled my eyes at the last part. "Ok mom. See you later." I walked over and kissed her cheek.

I walked through the garage and out to my car. I got in and connected my phone before pulling out of the driveway.

It took about 45 minutes to get to Dave's house today. I pulled into his driveway and parked.

I knocked on the front door and waited for an answer. A few moments later, the door opened and he stood there.

"Wassup mama." He smiled.

"Sup." I nodded and walked past him. "Kairi!" I smiled and picked her up. "I missed your little face. Did you have fun with nana?"

"Yes." She nodded and began to babble on.

I sat in the living room with her and let her talk. She finally slid off the couch and went to play with her toys. I pulled my phone out and scrolled through instagram while I watched her play.

"So I don't exist today?" Dave sat across from me

"I spoke to you." I sat my phone down. "How was the club last night?" I looked over at him

"It was cool. Chill shit."

"I thought you were hosting by yourself."

"Technically I was. Why?"

"Nothing." I shook my head. "You just looked real comfortable with Bernice thats all."

He laughed. "That's what you got a attitude for? She just stopped by. We talked and that's it. I didn't think I needed to tell you that. We ain't dating."

"I'm just the babysitter right?"

"I didn't mean it like that." He sighed

"It's cool." I laughed. "You don't have to explain nothing to me. I'ma continue to do my job and leave it at that. We good." I smiled

He ran his hands down his face. "You know these gossip pages know how to do shit to make it look like its something when its not, right? Bernice is just a old friend, that's it."

"Dave, its cool. You don't have to explain yourself."

He sat there before getting up and going upstairs.

"All done." Kairi walked around the pile of blocks that she stacked up and then kicked them over. "Uh oh." She looked at me

I laughed at her and grabbed my phone.
