It was just a normal day. Your day was going great... Well, that's what you thought. I mean you were having a great day 'till the last period of school. What happened? Well...

It was study hall. You didn't have any homework so you read a book. The book was called "The Labyrinth" it was your favorite book. "Through dangers untold, and hardships unnumbered. I have fought my way to the castle beyond the goblin city. To take back the child you have stolen. For my will is as strong as yours, and kingdom as great. You have no po-" You were interrupted by a guy named Justin. He was the bully of the school. He never really bullied you as much as he used to. All he said was "What the heck are you reading?"

You looked up and spoke very carefully "Oh...Nothi-" Justin stole the book from your hand. "HEY! GIVE THAT BACK!"

"LET ME SEE IT!" He looked at the red cover and flipped to the page you were reading.

"Through dangers untold and hardships unnumbered I have fought my way here to the castle beyond the goblin cit- this is stupid! Are you 6 or something?" He laughed

"Please give it back!"

"HEY IVAN! TAKE A LOOK AT THIS!" Justin threw the book over to Ivan who was sitting at a totally different table. You got up in a rush to grab your book back but Ivan didn't give it back. He looked at the pages and the page you were reading.

"What the heck! This is a children's book! You must be 6!" You turned to Justin and scoffed

"Why are you doing this!"

"I don't know, I'm bored and this is fun!" You ran to Ivan

"GIVE ME BACK MY BOOK!" Ivan threw the book to Justin and started a game of monkey in the middle. Once Justin had the book, You took action and grabbed the book. You were trying to tug it away from him but he had a tight grip. "LET GO!" Then all of a sudden, the book ripped in half. Justin and Ivan laughed and you started to cry.

"Omg! Are you crying? You're such a baby!" Said Justin, still laughing. The bell rang and it was time to go home. You picked up the ripped book and the papers that flew out. You grabbed your backpack and started walking home.

"Mom, I'm home!... Mom?" You were home alone. You walked into the kitchen to find a note on the table. "Dear Y/N, I have to step out for a while. Don't worry, I'll be home before 10. How do you feel about Thai food for dinner? Love Ya! ~mom" You sighed and sat on the couch. Then started to cry again. That book was very special to you. Your father gave it to on your 9th birthday.

All you wanted to do was to disappear, nothing more. Away from this world. You hated everything. You then remember the book. You remembered what the world would be like in that book. That's where you wanted to be. You wanted to be with Jerath in his castle beyond the goblin city. You stopped crying. You stood up straight in your seat. You took a deep breath and spoke very softly yet you could be heard. "I wish...I wish the goblin king would come and take me away...Please..."

It was dead silent. Not even a car went by. You opened your eyes slowly to find no one standing in front of you. You turned your head slowly behind you to find no one there. You then frowned, eyes full of tears again. Then all of a sudden, somebody was opening the door. The tears left your eyes and you had so much hope. Is it him? Is it the goblin king? Finally, the door opened. It wasn't Jerath, it was your mom.

"Hey, sweetie! Turns out I came home early! How are you? How was school?"

"I'm fine, school was boring. Why did you step out?"

"Work meeting. I thought I had to stay late but it turns out, they canceled it. So, I'm home! Now, how do you feel about Thai?" You laughed

"Thai is fine!"

"By the way! I was walking to the door and guess what I saw!"

"What?"

"An owl!"

"An owl?"

"YA! I think it's still there! Come!" You walked out of the house and there it was. A white barn owl sitting on a tree stump.

"Woah! Where did he come from? We don't get owls in this part of town!"

"I know! Now, come inside before you catch a cold!" You went inside looking back at the owl. The owl then winked at you and you smiled.
