"Bah." He said while flicking his wrist and turning away from you.

"Hoggle! What are you doing here?" you said with excitement, wiping away your tears.

"Well, I'm not really suppose to be with you. But, I knew you was here so I thought I'd lend you a hand."

"How did you know I was here?" You haven't seen Hoggle in years! It was good to see his face but you were confused. How did he know to find you here? Was he set up by Jareth? Were you set up for failure. What if Hoggle is the Cheshire Cat of Jareth Wonderland? You didn't know whether to trust him or not. Could you trust him? Not until he gives an explanation of why he's here.

"Are you kiddin? Do you think I wouldn't know Jareths ways? He never learns. He says his Labyrinth got harder, but the only thing he added was riddles. Everything else is the same. If you wanna get out of this, you best stick with me."

"Can I trust you?"

"Of course you can! I'd do anything for Sarah's daughter. Plus if you think for a second I'd be listenin' to Jearth, think again." You looked at Hoggle and took a deep breathe. You nodded your head and got up.

"Okay, lets go."

Off you two went, through the same door, down the same road, around the same false alarms, through the same hallway that your mother and Hoggle went down all those years ago. Your trust for Hoggle grew as you went along. "Up here." he said, pointing to the latter "Watch your step." You found it surprising how you haven't ran into any riddles, surly there would be some over by the false alarms or even down the, shockingly clean, hallway. Climbing up the latter, passing a familiar face in the rocks, you proposed a question to your dwarf friend.

"Hoggle, why haven't we ran into any riddles?"

"That stuff is only in the labyrinth, we are in an underground passage under it. Soon as we get to the surface, we will run into some." You sighed in frustration, you wished the riddles would be over with, especially since you had a death scare. Finally, after sometime climbing, you reached the surface, you and Hoggle climbed out of a pot and on to the labyrinth floor.

"I do hope they'll be simple, something like "does pineapple belong on pizza?" and the obvious would be no!" Hoggle bit his tongue because he would beg to differ.

"I'm sorry my dear, but there is no easy riddle, or at least one that is "easy""

"Oh! It's not fair!" You yelled stomped the ground. "Why is he like this?" You huffed and found a rock to sit on. Hoggle walked over to you and placed his hand on yours, gingerly.

"I understand it's frustrating, but that's why I'm here."

"It doesn't matter, we should just face it and understand that we are going to die here."  Hoggle shook his head in amazement and shock.

"Us? Dying? Very unlikely."

"Oh Hoggle, the last riddle I did, the goblin said if I got it wrong I was going to die."

"Well...are you dead?"

"No, but I bet that was a freebee, you know, to scare me? The next one is for sure going to kill me."

"Y/N, You're not going to die in the Labyrinth."

"Hoggle, how do you know that!?" You said standing up and moving away from him.

"Look, do you want the truth or do you want my opinion?"

"What's the difference?"

"Well," Hoggle cautiously moved closer to you "The truth is the truth and my opinion is still the truth but won't make you think too hard." At this point you were willing to hear anything, you wanted the truth but you didn't want another weight on your shoulder. Maybe his opinion is better, but you were too curious to not know the truth. You were just like Alice, having to pick one or the other side of the mushroom. Did you really care? Just pick one and go? You thought it should be better for you to know the truth then not know at all.

"The truth, then." You said, lets hope you don't hit your head on a birds nest. Hoggle sighed and started:

"The truth is Y/N...Jearth loves you. He's madly in love with you. You are like a precious gem to him. Now, being the love of his life, do you think he would want to kill you? No. He does these things to scare you but he wouldn't even leave a mark on ya. So, if  you're confronted with "death", you aren't really going to die. It's just his funny little way of showing how much he cares for you." You blushed and stood there with your eyes slightly wide. Speechless, as the thoughts in your head were loud and jumpy, unsure whether you hit a birds nest or fell on an acorn. "Now, shall we then?" You blinked out of your trance and nodded your head. "Let's go."

You both started to walk "I don't know how we are going to get through the riddles though." you said with a concern.

"Don't worry, I have my ways." Hoggle said looking up to you and smiling.
