You woke up the next morning to find that Jareth wasn't there. You didn't mind, he probably got up early to take care of some king stuff. You walked out of the room into your room so you could change into something more comfortable. As you were changing, you noticed the flowers were turning different colors.  It first started out as white meaning fine, then all the petals turned red, angry. Then, the tips of the flowers slowly turned blue, sad, it stopped turning blue half way. Something was wrong with Jareth.

After getting ready for your day, you went to find Jareth. The only place he could be this time was the throne room. You walked into the throne room to find him sitting on his throne, holding a crystal. His face was exactly what the flowers were, angry yet sad. The rest of the goblins were doing what any other goblin would do. Whether it is fighting over food, talking, capturing birds, or throwing a ball around. Jareth seemed to be so oblivious.

Jareth looked up to see you standing in the doorway. He threw the crystal in the air and it disintegrated.

"Hey." You said in a concerned tone.

"Hey."

"Are you ok?" Jareth paused then got up and made his way towards you.

"Of course, I'm fine. Why?"

"The flowers. They were red and blue."

"Oh, that! Ahaha! Oh, that's nothing. You see, the goblins sometimes drive me crazy so you'll most likely see those flowers change quite often."

"Oh...are you sure?"

"Yes. I'm fine." Jareth hugged you and kissed you on the forehead.

"Well ok, if you need me I'll be in my room." You then walked back to your room.

Was Jareth really ok? That seemed like a fake response. You weren't really sure. As you were walking back to your room, you saw a young goblin sweeping the floors. She was humming a very catchy tune. The goblin looked so happy while she swept. She was then interrupted by another goblin.

"BRIDGET! Stop humming that! You know the king doesn't like that song! If he hears you, you might just be thrown into the bog of eternal stench!"

"Oh I know, Newt! I just can't help it! It's such a pretty song! Oh, I wish I could sing that song without having a consequence!"

"Why does the king have to be so cruel?"

"Exactly, I wish he could be nicer." Both of the goblins walked away. You didn't really pay much attention to the goblins. To you, Jareth wasn't cruel, he was a lil biscuit! You spent the rest of your day organizing your room and cleaning it so it looks nice. That entire time you hummed that song. It was really pretty.

A few hours went by, it was dark and you were tired. Instead of sleeping in your room, you wanted to sleep with Jareth. You walked out of your room towards Jareth. It was closed. You knocked on the door. As you waited for a reply, you hummed the tune. You knocked on the door again, no reply.

"Y/N." You stopped humming and turned around. It was Jareth!

"Hi!" You hugged him and kissed him on the cheek. He didn't hug you back nor kiss you. He actually had a sort of mad look on his face.

"Y/N, how do you know that song?" You froze.

"Oh...uh, I think I heard one of the goblins humming it and I just caught on."

"Hm..." Jareth pushed you out of the way and entered his room. You followed. He laid down on his bed and you laid down next to him. He sighed and then looked at you. "Look...please don't hum or sing that song ever. It's very personal." You tilted your head slightly.

"Why?" Jareth didn't respond. "Why? What happened?" He moved for the bed and sat on the edge of it. You moved your body towards him and threw your arms around him from behind. "Oh, Jareth. Please talk to me. You know you can." You place small kissed on his cheek and towards his neck. Jareth grabbed your hand and looked at it.

"You're still wearing my ring, I see."

"Oh yes, I'm still trying to think but it's so gorgeous!"

"Ya..."

"Oh, Jareth. What's wrong?" He took a deep breath and started.

"You shouldn't worry for me, Y/N. My heart was broken many years ago. I wrote that song just for her. I did everything for her...but she didn't want me...I even moved the stars for her. And I move the stars for no one...but that was years ago...nothing more."

"What was her name?" Jareth paused.

"I don't want to talk about it."

"Oh! But I have so many questions! Can you please just answer on-" Jareth threw you off of him and he got up.

"I SAID I DIDN'T WANT TALK ABOUT IT!" It was silent for a moment or two "What part of that don't you understand?!" Your eyes went teary. Jareth just yelled at you. "...leave..." You froze. "...LEAVE! YOU CAN SLEEP IN YOUR OWN ROOM TONIGHT!" You got up from Jareth's bed and ran to your room. You threw yourself towards your bed and cried. You hadn't cried this hard in a long time.

You looked up at the flowers. They were bright red. So red, they could be on fire. You dug your head into your hands and cried so more. Then, the bright red light slowly faded. You moved your hands to look at the flowers. All the flowers turned gray...remorse.
