Was that real? Did he really do that? Those were the only thoughts going through your head while you walked through the garden. You stopped walking to sit for a while. Coincidentally, it was the same spot where you and Jareth confessed your feelings. The flowers were midnight blue speckled with white, meaning that he was asleep. You sighed and rested your chin on your hands. "Alright, I'll go then...but please tell her that even though I wasn't there all the time or even the most supportive, I still loved and cared for her very much..." said your mother in your mind. You teared up which then lead to you crying. You dug your head into your hands and cried."1,010! Woo who!" You looked up and tried to find who the voice belongs too. You turned around to find over by some bushes, a goblin spraying someone sort of creature. You couldn't see well from the tears. You rubbed your eyes and got up to meet the goblin. "1,013! Yes!" You finally saw what he was killing. Fairies.
"Hey!" You yelled. The dwarf jumped in surprise and turned to face you. "What are you doing?"
"Killing fairies, what does it look like!"
"Why are doing such a horrible thing!?"
"Cause they are horrible things! They're cute 'nd all until your bitin! What is it to you anyway? Who are you?"
"Y/N." The dwarf's eyes widen and his lips parted. You tilted your head in confusion.
"Y/N?"
"Yes?"
"Well, I'll be!"
"Why are you so shocked? You don't even know me!"
"Ya, I do. You're Sarah's daughter!" You sparked up. You were shocked that the dwarf knew your mother.
"How do you know her?"
"I've known your mother ever since she was your age! She's my friend."
"Really?"
"Ya! I have to say, you do have her beauty!" You blushed at his compliment.
"Oh, why thank you! And, may I have your name?"
"Oh! My apologies! I'm Hoggle!"
"Nice to meet you, Hoggle!" You both shook hands and smiled. Something changed in the corner of your eye. You looked to see the flowers turned to white. Jareth was awake. You sighed.
"What are you lookin' at?"
"The flowers, Jareth's awake!"
"You know Jareth?" You faced Hoggle and bit your bottom lip.
"A bit too much." The flowers went back to Midnight blue, he was back to sleep. You sighed and walked back to the bench with Hoggle following. You sat down and looked up at the sky, having all your thoughts come back to you.
"Uh. I couldn't help to find the ring you're wearing." You looked down at your hand. "It's very pretty. Where did you get it?"
"Jareth gave it to me?"
"Ahh yes, that's ni-WAIT WHAT?!" You jumped at Hoggle's loud reply. "Uh. You're not...lookin' to uh...marry him?" You didn't reply. You teared up as the words of your mother rang through your ears. '...I still loved and cared for her very much...' "I mean, I won't do nothin' to get in your way. But, what would your mother thin-wait...where is your mother?" Choking in tears you replied.
"Home!...she's home."
"How could that be so? She reached the castle! I was there!"
"Jareth gave her two options. Either she stays and I go...or I stay and she goes...and she chose me to stay." You placed your hands on your face and let out small sobs. Hoggle was flustered for he didn't know what to do when people cried.
"Uh. Y/N." You looked up. "Here." Hoggle handed you a tissue.
"Thank you." You blew your nose and wiped your eyes. You sighed and looked at Hoggle. You chuckled. "I'm sorry, I'm such a mess!"
"It's fine."
"It's just. Now I'm in this situation where I don't know if I should be with him anymore."
"Well, if he has hurt you this much, what's the point?" You looked at Hoggle with a confused look.
"But, I love him! If I leave him, then he'll forever be sad!"
"I understand that. But what you need to understand is that you should think about yourself first. Would you want to be with someone that hurts you?"
"No."
"Well..." you stared at your ring. You sighed and looked back at Hoggle.
"You're right. Thank you, Hoggle."
"Don't mention it." You got up from your spot on the bench and walked back to the castle as the flowers turned white. You reached your room to find Jareth wasn't there. You checked his room to see him lying on his bed. He got up when he saw you.
"Love! There you are!" He kissed you on your forehead and hugged you. You didn't hug back. He looked at you with a concerned face. "What's wrong?"
"Jareth...I...I want to go home."
