"Y/N, you have to wake up"
Remembering what Jareth said to you and immediately tricking you again made you loathe him even more than Hoggle did. You didn't know why someone who claimed to love you would resort to intentionally hurting again and again. You scrunched your face, shook your head, and huffed. It's game time, you have to focus. The Goblin City was just like how you remembered, mostly vacant, only chickens roamed the streets, and most definitely, very dirty. The smell was almost nostalgic, it's a very distinct scent, a strange mixture of rotten orange peels and chlorine. The same houses stood tall, the same bricks in the roads, all was the same. It was like you never left.
You dreaded the moment coming upon the castle. A pit in your stomach grew as you got closer. It was the bad type of nostalgia, the type that makes you cringe and shake your head. You made yourself seem so brave but in reality, you were terrified. You didn't want to face Jareth but you knew you had too. Your breathing went heavy and tears started to form out of anxiety. Hoggle reached for your hand, letting you know he's here for you no matter what. You collected yourself and smirked at him. Finally, you two reached the steps of the castle. You started to walk up them but stop midway though to notice Hoggle wasn't following you. "What's wrong?" You said, walking towards him with a worried look.
"Just..give it a moment." He said, putting one hand out and the other on his hip. You titled your head, what could be possibly mean? "Jareth might want to pull something here." You huffed with frustration with how little time you have.
"Hoggle what are you talking abou-" Just as the moment you said that, you heard a stampede of foot steps coming from behind you. You slowly turned around to find a goblin army.
"Told ya." He said with a bit of annoyance, he didn't want to face Jareth's goblins anymore. You both backed up as the goblins got into formation. Perfect rows of 5 on both sides of the castle, with each row having 8 goblins. 2 against 80...what are the odds? The thought of wanting to give up passed through your head as you became overwhelmed. You saw a goblin load a canon with what seem like another goblin.
"FIRE!" Yelled a goblin to the goblin operating the canon.
"Run!" Hoggle said, grabbing your wrist and running. A sudden burst of energy went through your body and you started to run. Suddenly, you realized you had to stay alive, for Agatha. You can't give up now, not now...
Moments before
"No because this is why all vampires are bisexual aromatic! They like the idea of a partner but not interested in sex!" Agatha said clenching the prison bars, hitting them to add an accent to her words. Jareth rubbed his forehead in confusion and annoyance before peering up to look at her while crossing his arms.
"Do you talk about anything else but this?"
"No." She said cheekily. Jareth gave a small breathy chuckle and stood up from his leaning position from the wall and walked towards her.
"Look, if you think irritating me with your whole philosophy on vampires is going to free you, it's not." He said in a hushed voice. Agatha looked down, not wanting to look him in the eyes. There was something about him that made her intimidated, which, was ridiculous. Agatha isn't scared of anything or anyone, in fact, when she first took a good look Jareth, she thought his outfit was absurd. Who would take this guy seriously? But as she got to know him, her view changed. Maybe she shouldn't mess with him. Exactly, what would he do to her? She didn't want to know.
"Thought it was worth a try." She said somberly, making Jareth give another small chuckle. She looked up at him and tilted her head "Why are you hanging out with me?" She said, looking at him with curiosity. Jareth's face went blank, why is he hanging out with her? Agatha studied his face as he looked everywhere but her. Flustered, he spoke while walking away.
