You immediately paused and turned around. "Agatha no!" You screamed. You tried to run to Agatha's room but something didn't seem right. No matter how hard you ran, you couldn't reach her door. The hallway was getting longer. On and on it went, the hallway never getting shorter. You just ran with tears building up in your eyes. Finally, what have seemed to be hours, the hallway started to shrink. You reached her room and opened the door with all your might. But it was too late. Agatha was gone. The window was open, blowing cool air into the room. You dropped to your knees and placed your hands into your face. For the first time in a long time, you cried harder than ever before.
"Gosh, do you always have to cry in these types of situations?!" Said a familiar voice to your right. You look up slowly to find a figure in the dark. You got up quickly, frightened of the figure. You tried to turn on the light, but it wouldn't turn on. The shadow chuckled. Your heart was beating 100 miles an hour. You knew exactly who this was.
"You." you scoffed. He chuckled again and came into the light. It was Jearth. You surveyed him, everything about him was the same. His clothes still overly exaggerated as always, that same crooked smile, and same alien eyes. He didn't change one bit. Not even a wrinkle on his face.
"How long did it take you to figure that out?" he said. His voice sent a shiver down your spine. That voice. His cold, familiar voice. You couldn't get rid of the feeling.
"Where is Agatha!?" You screamed. Jearth adjusted his gloves while he waited for you to figure it out. You bit your lip and whispered, "Why?"
"What do you mean why? She said the words. She's mine now. You're never going to get her back."
Your mouth opened as if you wanted to say something but nothing came out. You rubbed your head and turned away from Jareth. You pinched the middle of your eyes and quietly said to yourself "I'm such an idiot, where did I go wrong?" More tears came out of your eyes with each word you said.
"Now, there shouldn't be any reason why you're crying," Jareth said, slowly making his way over to you. He placed his hand on your arm and you moved your head away from him. "I have liberated you from that annoying child. You should feel free, happy." You sparked up.
"What!?" You hit Jareth's hand away and turned around to face him. Your faces were inches away from each other. You stared at him with anger in your eyes. He looked at you with a blank expression, but his eyes read "mischief." Lyrics started to play in your head. Your eyes can be so cruel, just as I can be so cruel. You shook your head to be rid of the feeling. "I love Agatha with all my life!"
"If you love her so much, why didn't you expose her to the Underground?"
"So I could keep her away from you!" You snapped. Jareth's face got madder. "Please, give her back." Jareth shook his head in disapproval.
"It won't be easy. You will never get her."
"I'd destroy myself to take you down with me."
"Fine." Jearth grabbed your waist and wrist. You struggled to break free from his embrace. You arched your back, trying to keep your distance away from his face. You looked him in the eyes. He smirked, "let's dance."
