Song: Just the way you are by Bruno Mars

I go to his house to see him. The house is a mad house. The girls are fighting and Kia is having another melt down. His mom is trying to fold the laundry only to have to start all over because Kia dumps the laundry basket over and all the clothes fall out to the floor. Just being in this house is causing my nerves to race. I want to get out of here because its way too loud, sensory overload. Kodiak senses my reaction to the noise and he grabs my hand and pulls me down to his room. He turns on the radio but I tell him that he has to turn it down. My head is throbbing. The yelling and music all blends in together  and I feel like I am going to fall all apart myself.

"Is it like this a lot?" I ask him in a loud voice almost screaming.

He nods his head. "More days than not. I told you it's crazy up in here."

Kia burst into his room and sees me and screams again, "Go away...no girls allowed.

"Kia...I told you she is a friend of mine and this is my room so she can be in here."

"No...she is a girl...no girls allowed," he screams louder this time more demanding as he stomps his foot.

"It's ok...I will go." I go to stand up and Kodiak stops me from leaving.

"This is my room. Kia...get out," he tells him in a firm voice.

"I'm telling mom," he screams back at him and runs down the hallway. We hear him telling their mom and then she comes back with him. She stands in the doorway.

"Kodiak...Kia only wants to spend time with you...it's not going to hurt for him to be in the room with you."

"But it's not that...he told Ophelia that she had to get out."

"Kia...Ophelia is Kodiak's girlfriend...so you need to be nice to her."

"She is a girl...no girls allowed." He stomps again.

"Kia...you have two choices here...you can play in here with her here or you can play in your room."

He stomps his feet and folds his arms in front of him with the meanest look on his face. He gave me a death glare and I really feel like I should go even though Kodiak keeps telling me to stay.

He ends up staying in the room which means no time alone time for me and Kodiak.

Kodiak:

My family so gets on my nerves. The one time I can actually be alone with her and Kia has to start his shit. He knows how to play my mom. Yes he may be diagnosed with Autism...however he knows how to manipulate my mom. He takes over the remote and every time I try to say something he has to butt in putting in his two cents. He throws down the remote and looks at us.

Then out of nowhere he says, "You like dinosaurs?"

Ophelia nods her head.

"What is your favorite?"

"Uhm...the one with the long neck...wait...no T-rex." She smiles back at him. I know where this is going.

"It's not a T-rex it's a Tyrannosaurus." He grabs her hand and drags her to his room. "See like this one." He holds it up, then he goes on showing her all of them. "This one is a Triceratops, Stegosaurus, Brachiosaurus, Apatosaurus." He goes on and on making sure he shows her every single one of them. She never says a word. When he holds the last one up she smiles at him.

"You know so much about dinosaurs."

"I know all about them." He grins ear to ear. "I know what they like to eat...what year they were on Earth...how much they weight...you name it...I know it."
