Brynn's POV:

I dried Elle's hair and through a pajama shirt over her as I heard the doorbell ring. I kissed her forehead and handed her my phone as I sat her down on the couch. I walked to the door with a smile before it was wiped off. Outside the door was my parents with Alec. I opened the door wider as my mom pushed through and the boys walked in behind her. They walked into the kitchen and sat down as I closed the door and followed them.

"Mom, dad. What are you guys doing here?" I asked.

My mom smiled menacingly. "We came to see you. Us and your husband."

I looked at her before looking around the apartment. "Um well, I see you guys, but I don't see Auston."

I smirked as my mom scowled. I looked over at Alec who gave me a weak smile. "How are you?"

He shrugged. "I've been better."

I nodded. I went to grab my cup of ice water before my mom snatched my hand.

"Such a beautiful ring. Who gave it to you?" She asked.

I rolled my eyes as my father looked at me. "Sweetheart, we're just worried about you. That's all."

I looked at the three of them. "Worried for what? I'm fine. You see this?" I rubbed my stomach. "This is me living my life and being happy. So what are you worrying for?"

My mom scoffed. "Maybe because you're throwing your life away for some guy that's probably using you."

I chuckled. I got up from the table and opened a drawer that had important paperwork for Auston and I in it. I grabbed the envelope and put it on the table as I refilled my cup. My mom opened it before her eyes widened.

"This, this isn't real." She said.

I smiled at her as I laid my hand back on the table showing them the oval shaped diamond ring on my left hand. She opened her mouth to speak before Alec interrupted her.

"You guys got married?" He asked as he gently grabbed my hand and looked at the ring.

I smiled as I looked at the ring myself. "Yeah, we got married. Right outside of Toronto, at a little park."

He looked up at me. "Wow. Congratulations."

I tore my gaze from my hand and looked at him. I looked away starting to feel upset. "Alec, I feel bad about what I did. I really do. But you have to understand, I wasn't happy."

He let go of my hand and nodded. "I know."

I smiled at him as I walked towards him and laid a kiss on his cheek. He smiled at me. "I just want you to be happy. That's all I've ever wanted."

I smiled at him as the door opened. Elle jumped off the couch and ran into Auston's arms as he just came back from practice. He walked into the kitchen, giving me a kiss as he patted my stomach.

"Hello Beth. How are you?" He asked my mom politely.

My mom looked at him and shook her head. "So you married my daughter?"

He nodded as Mitch and Freddie walked in laughing. They walked into the kitchen before they saw everyone and quieted almost immediately.

"I should go." Alec said.

He stood up and slipped past everyone and out the door. Freddie looked at the door then back at the table where my parents sat.

"How could you have a wedding and not invited your family?" My mom said.

Auston laughed as he shook his head. He kissed Elle's forehead keeping himself composed.

"My family was there. Ryan, Freddie, Steph, Mitch, Jess and Auston's family. They were all there." I said as I looked at the boys.

They smiled at me as my mom scoffed again and got up. "You are a waste of my time."

I chuckled as her and my father walked towards the door. I went to speak before Auston beat me to it. "If she's such a waste of time, stop coming back to her."

I heard Mitch laugh as he covered his mouth. I shut the door before my mom could say anything. Auston leaned down to kiss my forehead as I turned back around to face Mitch and Freddie. Auston and Freddie walked back to the kitchen as I rubbed my forehead with a smile. Mitch watched Auston and Freddie before turning back to me and grabbing my arm as I went to walk away. He pulled me into the living room.

"Did you really mean what you said about us Brynn? About us being your family?" Mitch asked me.

I looked at him and smiled. "Of course I did Mitch. You and Steph, you guys took me in like family. You've done nothing to wrong me or hurt me. You, Steph, those two knuckleheads in the kitchen, Jess, the entire team. You all are my family. You guys are all that I need." I told him as I hugged him.

I heard Freddie's voice as I pulled away. "That means a lot to us Brynn."

He smiled at me as Auston sat down. "Well, you guys mean a lot to us. So it's only fair."
