fifty-one

Brynn's POV:

I let out a groan as another wave of pain hit me. I heard Jess walk into the room as she looked at me with concern.

"What's wrong?" She asked.

I shrugged. "I don't know. I think I'm getting contractions."

Jess widened her eyes. "But she's not do until the 24th."

I nodded as the contraction ended. I let out a breath and laid back on the couch. "I know that. I just, help me stand up."

She nodded as she grabbed my hand and gently lifted me off the couch. I sighed and smiled at her as I waddled to the kitchen. I opened the fridge as Jess followed me.

"Maybe we should go to the doctor, you know, just to be sure." She reasoned.

I shook my head. "I'm fine. I'll be fine."

As soon as I closed the door another contraction hit me. I gasped as this one was worse than the one before. "Ow! Okay yeah. Let's go to the doctor."

Jess sprinted to the door and threw it open as she ran back to me and helped me outside then into her car. She ran back to the door, closing it then locking it and got into the car, speeding to the hospital. When we got there, Jess helped me inside while calling Auston. The nurse wheeled me into a room as Jess stayed in the hallway.

"How far along are you?" She asked me nicely.

I smiled as another contraction hit. "Just about there. My due date is actually supposed to be the 24th. I'm early."

The nurse smiled at me. "Well I'm sure everything will work out for you. You're in good hands. Your first?"

I shook my head. "Second. Another girl. Dr. Siler delivered my daughter Elle. He's amazing."

The nurse nodded with an 'mhm' as she hooked me up to an IV. She finished up with everything as she looked at me.

"Dr. Siler will be in, in a moment. For the meanwhile just hold tight." The nurse told me as she walked out.

I sighed as I closed my eyes and looked down at my stomach. I rubbed my stomach as I spoke. "You're not ready yet baby. Just hold off for a little while longer. Please."

Auston's POV:

As soon as Jess called me, I hopped into my car and drove as fast as I could to the hospital. Mitch and Freddie were both hot on my tail as the three of us all pulled into the parking lot. I ran to the front desk out of breath as I startled receptionist.

"Brynn Matthews. What room is she in?" I asked quickly.

She looked at me weirdly as Freddie and Mitch ran in behind me. "Um are you family?"

I looked at her like she was crazy as I heard Jess.

"Auston!" She said.

I turned to her and ran right up to her.

"How is she?" I asked.

She shrugged. "She's doing fine. We've been here for about two and a half hours. They've been monitoring her and her contractions. Her water hasn't broke yet so that's good, but her contractions aren't sporadic. They're pretty frequent so. They should be able to tell you more now that you're here."

I nodded as she walked with me to Brynn's room. I opened the door as Brynn looked at me and smiled.

"Auston." She said with a smile.

I smiled back. "Hey, how do you feel?"

She closed her eyes and whines. "Like I'm going to explode. Auston she's not ready yet."

I grabbed her hand and kissed it. "It's okay. You have about four weeks left anyway. If she comes early at least it's during your ninth month."

She nodded and smiled at me. "I'm ready to meet our baby."

I smiled with a little laugh. "So am I beautiful."
