Auston's POV:

I yawned as I pulled my skates off. Playoffs time was here and once again, we were playing Boston. With a split series two games in, we were back in Toronto. I was tired as hell from the games and the sleepless hours at home helping Brynn with Kingsley were starting to get to me. Freddie smacked my head as I started to doze off and I jumped startled by the hit.

"What the hell?" I said to him.

"You were falling asleep. Get your stuff taken off, hop in the showers. I'm taking you home. Brynn and I don't want you driving like this." He told me.

I nodded. I stood up as I pulled my wet undershirt off. I turned the water on as cold as it could get and stood under it. I let it hit my face before I let out a gasp feeling like I was starting to suffocate under the ice cold water. I turned it off and sputtered as I stepped out from under the shower head. I ran my hand through my wet hair and toweled off as I threw on a dry t-shirt. I put on sweatpants then walked back into the locker room. Freddie was waiting for me by the entrance door.

"You ready," He said.

I nodded as we walked out of ACC and to his car. We drove in silence as I struggled to stay awake. We pulled into my apartment complex as I opened the door. Freddie and I walked inside and took the elevator up to my floor. I unlocked my front door and walked inside. The first think I saw was Elle and Kingsley asleep on the couch. I smiled to myself. I saw Brynn cleaning up in the kitchen as Freddie walked past towards the bathroom. I leaned against the bar counter as she looked at me with a smile.

"You look exhausted." She said with a laugh.

I smiled at her and pulled her into me as she put her hands on my chest. "I'm trying to keep up with you superwoman."

She giggled as she kissed me softly. "You don't have to try and keep up with me, I'm used to this. You're not. You need rest. You're a superstar athlete and a father."

"And your husband. It's my job to take care of you too." I told her.

"And it's our job to take care of you Auston," Freddie said as he walked into the kitchen to grab a water from the fridge. "Me, as your best friend and Brynn, as your wife."

Brynn looked back at me with a smile. "You don't have to be in control of everything all the time Auston."

I looked over at the two girls sleeping on the couch. "I just want to be able to help that's all."

Freddie chuckled. "Auston, you are helping. You're being our star player and helping the team fight for a chance to win a Stanley Cup."

Brynn spoke up. "And you are helping me by being the best father you can possibly be to Elle and Kingsley."

I smiled at the both of them. "This is both of your ways on telling me to get some sleep isn't it?"

They both laughed in agreement. "Alright. Thanks for the flattery guys. I'll go to sleep now."

They laughed as I slipped past them. I got to the bedroom door as I heard Brynn whisper to me.

"Hey Auston," She said as I turned to her. "I love you Superman."

I smiled at her with a wink. "I love you more."
