Brynn's POV:

After a much needed break, the season was back and full swing meaning Auston wasn't home as often. My due date was coming up quick. Jess and Steph were choosing to miss games, even home games, to help me out at the house.

"So how much longer now?" Steph asked quietly.

"Nine weeks. April 24 won't get here fast enough." I told her quickly as to not get out of breath.

Jess handed me a cup of water. I took it and gulped it down. "And Auston?" Jess asked.

I chuckled. "He's handling it a lot better than I am. I feel bad that I can't go to the games as often as I used too."

The girls laughed.

"I'm pretty sure Auston doesn't want his very pregnant, very hockey-loving wife at the games. He's a big boy." Steph said.

I smiled at Steph as I rubbed my stomach. "At my last appointment the doctor said she's the size of a coconut."

Steph smiled. "She's going to have the greatest mother in the world."

Jess nodded her head to Steph's statement. "Agreed."

I heard the door open and turned myself slowly as Auston walked through the door. His hair was wet and his dress shirt was untucked like he just sloppily threw his clothes back on after the game. He dropped his bag by the door and walked over to me. I held my hands out as he gently grabbed them and helped me up.

"Good game Matthews." I told him as he leaned down to give me a kiss.

"Thank you. And thank you girls for keeping an eye on her." He told Steph and Jess.

As if on cue, Freddie and Mitch walked through the door. They were laughing about something as Mitch walked over to Steph and kissed her forehead. Freddie hugged Jess as Auston helped me into the kitchen.

"Nice waddle." Freddie said.

"Can it Frederik!" I replied back as everyone laughed.

I sat myself in one of the kitchen chairs and let out a slow breath as Jess went back to cooking. The guys got settled at the table as Steph helped Jess with dinner. Mitch looked at me with a smile.

"How's it going big momma?" He asked with a smirk.

"April can't get here fast enough. I'm pretty sure I had more energy at this time when I was pregnant with Elle." I told him.

Freddie chuckled. "Oh it's not that bad. I'm just ready for Kingsley to get here so that I can listen to Auston complain about only get 48 hours of sleep a week for about two and half months or so."

Mitch and Steph started to laugh as Jess spoke up. "You say that now Fred, but that's what I went through when I was helping her with Elle. It's was torture. Hopefully you find ways to help her sleep through the night."

Auston shook his head. "She already keeps the both of us up at night anyway. She kicks away at Brynn during the night so that keeps Brynn up and Brynn's constant complaining about it keeps me up."

I smacked the back of Auston's head as everyone else laughed. "You love my complaining."

He looked at me with a smile. "Of course I do."

Jess laid down a plate of food in front of me as she handed me a fork. "Everyone else has to serve themselves."

The guys groaned as Steph and Jess sat down with their plates. Auston sat next to me as Freddie and Mitch sat down across from each other. We all kept up casual conversation as I leaned back in my chair. Auston looked at me as everyone continued to talk.

"You alright?" He asked me.

I smiled at him. "Just admiring our little family."

He smiled at me as he reached his hand over to rub my stomach. "This is going to be the longest nine weeks of my life isn't?"

I giggled as I laid my hand on top of his larger one. "You and I both Auston."
