Auston's POV:
I rushed home to the sound of Brynn's panicked voice on the phone to see what the emergency was. When I opened the door, I saw two suitcases sitting by the door. I looked at them confused before jogging to the bedroom.
"Babe, what's going on?" I asked her.
She didn't turn to look at me as she threw clothes into another suitcase. "I'm packing."
I chuckled. "I can see that. Why?"
She turned to me and I noticed her eyes. They were puffy, red, and bloodshot. "Have you been crying?"
She nodded as another tear ran down her face. I wrapped my arms around her waist as she laid her head against my chest.
"My dad called me and said my mom got into an accident. She's in the hospital." She said worriedly.
My eyes widened in surprised before I looked down at her. "I'm sorry about that. No updates on how she's doing?"
She shook her head. "That's why Elle and I are flying out to see her."
I pulled away slightly to look at her. "Leaving? Brynn she doesn't deserve to have you there."
Brynn looked at me. "Whether she deserves it or not she is still my mother."
I scoffed. "Brynn she's treated you like an accessory your entire life and never once wanted anything to do with you or your brother, why even waste your breath?"
She dropped her arms and pushed me away from her as she closed the suitcase she was packing. "Auston I'm going to see my mother, and there is nothing you can do to stop me."
I put both my hands on her shoulders and turned her around. She looked at me with anger evident in her eyes.
"Are you really going to show sympathy to the woman that broke you?" I asked her seriously.
She looked at me. "If you have a problem with it than you can unpack and you don't have to go."
She removed my hands from her shoulders and pushed past me. I followed her as she threw her coat on and put a coat on Elle.
"I didn't want to go anyway because that woman doesn't deserve my kindness. And she sure as hell doesn't deserve yours." I yelled to her.
She turned to me as she hoisted Elle on her hip and grabbed the suitcases. "Talk to me when you pull your head out of your ass Auston."
I followed her to the door and stood in the door frame as she walked down the hallway. "That might be awhile."
"Good!" She yelled back.
