Brynn's POV:

"I can't believe you get married in two days." My mother told me.

I smiled up at her as I combed through Elle's curls before handing her off to Austin. He smiled at the both of us before standing up and leaving us alone. I looked at my mom.

"When were you going to tell me that Auston came to talk to me?" I asked quietly.

My mom looked at me with her brow raised. "Child, the sooner you realize that he is no good for you the better. You don't need to worry about a boy when you have a man waiting for you."

I didn't look at my mother as she stared down at me. "You seem to believe you know what's best for me."

My mother scoffed. "I do know what's best for you. I'm your mother. Hence the saying mother knows best!"

I didn't bother giving her an answer. I was too tired out to even pick an argument with her. I just nodded. She smiled at me and turned around to grab something from her purse.

"I have to go. I need to check with Pierre on the DJ and the ice sculptures." I rolled my eyes at my mom but nodded. She walked out and said hello to Ryan as he just nodded and came in the room I was in shutting the door behind him.

"I wanted to give you something for you're big day since I won't see you again until Tuesday." He said as he pulled something out of his pocket.

I gasped and stood up slowly reaching for the blue sapphire diamond ring he held in his hand. "It was our grandmother's wedding band when she got married. I know it's supposed to be given to you on your wedding day by either your mother or father but I wanted to be the one to give it to you. It's your something old and something new, something used and something blue."

I smiled at my brother and hugged him tightly. "Thank you so much Ryan. I can always count on you can't I."

He laughed. "I just want you to know that I support you with any decision you make. Any decision."

I looked at him confused. "What makes you say that?"

"I just feel like you should know." He said. He went towards the door to leave and opened it to be met with Auston's face.

"Auston!" I breathed out.

Ryan looked between the two of us then turned to him. "You're not supposed to be here."

I put a hand on Ryan's shoulder. "It's okay Ryan. Really it is. Just give us a moment."

He sighed and nodded before walking out. I locked the door behind him and turned to Auston. I hugged him as soon as my hand left the lock and he wrapped his arms around me.

"I-I missed you Auston." I said quietly.

He nodded and pulled away from me. "I wanted to wish you luck on your big day on Tuesday. It's gonna get here fast."

His words made me frown. "I don't understand Auston. What are you saying?"

"I'm saying that I want you to marry Alec. He's what's best for you. I've realized that now. You're mother, she made that clear." He said back with a small smile.

My eyes widened. "What did she say to you Auston?"

"Don't worry about it. I'm happy for you Brynn. I really am. You're getting the life you always deserved." He said.

I felt tears prick at me eyes. He laid a kiss on my forehead before walking towards the door. "Auston wait," I called to him just as he opened the door. "I-I love you."

He smiled at me and walked out the door. I slumped down on the bed and cried knowing I was making a mistake but couldn't find a way out of it.
