I'll Never Be Your Mate

"You can place your things here" I said while showing Austin the empty space in wardrobe beside my clothes. He nodded and I turned in front, continuing showing him around the room and the bathroom. I stopped in front the high ceiling window beside my bed and looked out while Austin placed his bags on the bed and moving his things from the bags.

"Are you really sure about me staying in your room?" Austin asked. When he saw that I remained silence, he added, "I'm just asking, I don't mind at all." I continued staring at the forest, watching the leaves swayed by the wind. "I don't mind, it's just a bed after all. It's not like we're going to use it for something else apart sleeping" I turned my head and gave him a smirk. He rolled his eyes. I turned back to the window. "I'm sorry for putting you out of the comfort of having a large bed for yourselves in a luxury hotel and for making you share a bed here." I felt something hit my head making me winced. "Hey!" I eyed the socks that he threw on me and frowned at him.

"Stupid. You rank first in talking shit, aren't you?" he retorted. I looked with annoyance at him while smoothing my head where he hit. "It doesn't matter to me as long as I get a place to sleep and enjoy my holidays here." He grinned, "Also I get more time to spend with you all." I gave a small laugh. I picked his socks up and throw it at him. He caught it and continued placing his clothes. "It's fine as no one have problem with it" I mumbled as I frowned to myself as I found it strange that Jake had accepted easily to the arrangement. "What?" Austin looked up.

"Nothing" I smiled. "I will be downstairs if you need me" I said and headed down.

At night, all the girls helped to prepare the dinner and it was fun doing it with Eva. She knew how to make someone laugh even when she won't. It's impossible to not be fond of her. Though I didn't like a bit the fact how she is so close to Jake. After the dinner, we moved in the living room to watch a movie. We all preferred to sit on the carpet beside the couches since there wouldn't be enough space for everyone on the couches. Every couple sit together and Jake went to sit next Eva in front at the start of the carpet.

Even so, I knew Jake is a playboy and I had already gotten used to see him with other girls. Why is seeing him with Eva affect me like this? I found myself glanced every five minutes at them during the movie. They murmured and laughed all throughout the movies. God knows what is so funny when it was an action movie. My wolf just wanted to tear Eva away from his mate every time she came closer to him to whisper in his ears that makes him laugh.

Jake was laughing with Eva on something he said. When his laughs ceased, he turned behind and glanced back where I was sitting near the farthest couch. My eyes widen as I made eye contact with him. I felt my cheeks flushed with blushing at being caught looking at him. I quickly turned my face to the right to escape from the embarrassment and I hid my face on Austin's chest. At the contact of skin, Austin glanced down at me from the movie and smiled warmly at me. He wrapped his left arm around my shoulder. I smiled back and turned to the movie. I didn't expect Jake to turn behind. That was so embarrassing. What might he think about me, that I'm jealous? Not at all.

I looked through the corner of my eyes at him and saw him watching the movie with his jaw clenched and his facial skin was stiff. Why is he so tensed now? He was just having fun in his small corner with Eva. I tried watching the movie till with each time peeking at Jake and Eva.

Everyone went to their rooms after the movie. All I could heard the silent sound of the night around the house. Every one might be asleep and I, since many hours I'm trying to sleep. Though, I couldn't get a grip of sleep since the images of Jake and Eva kept flashing in my mind or what they might be doing. Were they already sleeping or were they cuddling together? Were there any proximity between them on the bed or were they touching each other?
