Chapter 33

Jake's P.O.V

Wow! What is going on?

A bit taken back, I pulled away from the kiss after a sec. Eva gazed at my face and smiled sweetly. Still surprised by her bolt move, I smiled back because everyone's stare was on us. Mostly Ashley's angry stare.

Cheerful conversation started on the table and everyone had forgotten the awkward moment the strange confession had just caused the last minutes. Everyone went back on the beach after the lunch, lazing out on the sand.

I clearly felt rage waving from Ashley's body. I only agreed to date Eva again so that Ashley do not guess my feeling for her nor I wanted to back off and let her rub her new dreamy boyfriend in my face. Surely my wolf was not pleased with it.

Eva continued demonstrating her affection for me in front of them. She kept rubbing her body to my side, kissing when she felt. Feeling void inside, I plaster a smile on my face whenever she kept touching me. I found it weird for Eva suddenly accepting to date me again because she knew it well that dating was a onetime thing for us.

Whenever it was possible, my eyes sought for Ashley and I found her every time kissing Austin or laughing with him. I tried all my best to keep my inner wolf at bay. I wanted to have the death of the alpha in my hand. Mostly when Ashley was wearing that skinny and clingy one piece, revealing her long tan legs. He kept having his hands on her body.

How did the day start good and went like this? Nothing could possible go right between Ashley and me.

Everyone had freshen up. Feeling very sick from seeing those two stick to each other, I didn't go down for dinner. I went to the door beside my wardrobe and slide it open. The light breeze of evening rushed into my room, caressing my face. I stepped onto the wide balcony. I walked to the railing that overlooked the pool and the beach.

I leaned to the railing and sighed out. With my elbows on the railing, I ran my hands in my hair as the light breeze rushed through them. Their voices and laughs are being heard from downstairs. I looked at the sea, watching the waves crashed to each other. I tried to ease my tensed shoulders but I couldn't feel myself relax. Ashley and Austin's image on the beach kept replaying in my mind. My wolf was on its edge. My craws came out each time as I remembered how Austin's hands lay and feel Ashley's body. I let out a frustrated breath.

"Having a hard time?" a voice came to my right. I turned my head, Ashley was leaning to her balcony with a beer bottle to her lips. I didn't notice her presence at all, maybe, because there was many things on my head. Upon noticing me staring at her, she glanced at me through her corner of eyes as she sipped her beer. I badly wanted to feel her warmth, held her and caressed her cheeks and arms.

I turned my head in front and cleared my throat. "Something like that" I glanced at her. She was looking the view in front. "Why aren't you down?"

"I'm not hungry."

"But you are thirsty." She gave me a dead look.

A silence passed between us. Both of us looking at the sea. "Congratulation on your new boyfriend" I said with a wry smile.

A wicked smile playing on her lips she said "you too." She lifted her bottle to that before sipping. "I can finally see you settle down. Though, it came a bit of surprise to me"

I rolled my eyes at that "I'm already settling down with you"

She rolled her eyes this time "I mean in real"

How I wish I was really with you. I returned my gaze back to the beach.

"You want some?" she lifted her bottle up to me. I took the beer over our railing. I can't miss a chance to feel her lips. I pressed my lips to the rim of the bottle before taking a gulp.
