I'll Never Be Your Mate

CHAPTER 5

The day that I was praying throughout the week to never come had finally came. Today is my engagement. Since last week, everyone was very eager for this occasion except me and maybe also Jake.

The engagement would due at one of my father's hotel. James, Jake's grandpa came to California yesterday. My meeting with him was good. When I met him, I noticed that he already appreciate me. I got that prove when he looked at me with love while smiling warmly.

He was nice. He told me about his life and how his pack lead. We talked about my life and my futures, he gave me some advice about my future and I appreciate it. I already told him that after marriage I planned to both working and managing the pack with Jake. I was kind of scared that he would disapprove with it but instead James agreed. He told me that his mate also did the same work and led the pack. He said that I was brave and powerful to decide to do both task which was difficult.

All the family of Jake was nice apart himself. I wished sometime he could be like that. Sometimes I caught James gave me a look that tell me 'I know you are hiding something' but what could it be.

It couldn't be Jake reveal us to be mate because based on his behaviour, it seems like he hadn't even accept that I'm his mate so he wouldn't even dare to tell anyone.

Maybe James saw us good together as he always said whenever he saw us.

Sometime when I thought, I feel that Jake didn't believe in mate bond. That is why he is like this. Anyway, I just have to find a way to endure that asshole mate in this marriage and then we will part ways. No one had precise that we need to mate so I'm okay so far.

Everyone was busy in the preparation while I was sitting on the couch watching them rushing everywhere making their works. They didn't want me to help them, they wanted to me rest for tonight.

I told Sarah and Stella all the stories that happened since last week except, about the kiss that I shared with Jake and the fact being mate with Jake. I thought it would be more appropriate to tell them in person. I couldn't hide it from them because they knew when I hid something. It's a common thing that happened in the three of us. We read each other like a diary.

As we got choose from different university, our way were separated. Stella went to Paris to study in the side of fashion designer, Sarah went to Canada for learning makeup artist and I went to New York to continue my studies in account, economics and business to be able run my dad business.

Just the day when I got my degree, I quickly returned to my home land. I was missing my pack. Sarah just came back from yesterday after just getting her degree. Unfortunately Stella couldn't come before tonight. Just this afternoon, there would be her graduation ceremony and till that time, she wouldn't be able to be on time.

Sarah told me that she would meet me in my hotel room where I would be getting dressed. I thought that after Stella come back to California tomorrow, I would tell them the whole thing about Jake.

I am in my hotel room, in front the mirror with Sarah doing my hair while I was looking at her. She was always at make up since childhood. She curled my hair and put in a messy bun with leaving some curled strands of hair out. Then she put eye shadows on my eyes doing Smokey eyes makeup, putting some blush and a cherry lipstick on my lips.

"You are all done now with the makeup. Your face is beautiful. Go now! Go wear your dress" Sarah said.

I took the gown from her hand and went in the bathroom. After putting it on, I went back in the room. "Wow! You will definitely knock all the men out in the room. You're so... I can't find a word to describe you. You are so beautiful." She exclaimed with joyed.
