Jake's P.O.V

We just came home from our run in the forest. Dad wanted to take a run with other men in the house as soon as we woke up. As we went running in our human form, dad told us his plan with the other alphas about building beach house here in this territory. This would help other pack members to lodge when they need vacation. We decided a bit about which part of the land will be used and gave ideas on the house design. It would be on the other side of our beach house. This way it would give privacy to everyone living in the territory. Austin's pack formed part in the plan as it was close with Aiden and Sarah and Stella's pack. This also formed an ally with all the packs that took part in this project.

Mom and Rose were in the living room as we entered the room. They were chatting animatedly but lifted their heads up at our arrival. "How was the run?" mom asked with her half eaten apple in her hand.

"Good" I smiled. I snatched her apple and sat down on the couch. She made a fake annoyed face making me rolled my eyes. I took a bite, "it has been a long since I ran with dad. It gives me the feel of how we went running in the pack" dad gave me a side smile as he drank water from a bottle.

Stella and Sarah joined us in the living room and sat on the arm of the couch by their mate side. Everyone was in the room apart Ashley and Eva. They might be around. Aiden started to explain mom and the other women the project. Suddenly I feel a dread ran through my body. I frowned at myself thinking why I'm feeling scared. The apple juice grew bitter in my mouth and I found myself clenching the remaining apple in my hand unconsciously. Soon another rush of emotion swung in me. My wolf stated to be agitated. He felt uneasy wanting to come out at once.

My stomach churned as a trepidation filled me. Voices of everyone filled in the back of my head as my mind pondered with angst. What might be the reason of my fear?

There was a moment before I realised.

Ashley!

The name kept ringing in my head. I felt my blood drained out of me. The last time I felt like this, Ashley had been injured.

I stood up abruptly. Everyone startled by me and watched me. My body was trembling. My wolf was on the edge to shift. "Where is Ashley?" my voice boomed even though I didn't intend it to be like this.

Everyone had a confused expression at my behaviour. With her brows furrowed, my mom answered, "She went with Eva to Jenny. It has been probably three hours since they have been gone." Her eyes fell away from me in her thought "It has been long since then but they must have gone somewhere else, they will be back soon anyway."

She eyed me "What happen? Why are you so worked up?"

I shook my head. "No she is not okay!"

I could feel it. Something was wrong.

She must be face with something. I could feel her fear. I was growing more agitated. I felt my anger crawling over my fear at not knowing what might happen to her.

"I'm going to her" I shot before grabbing my t-shirt on the sofa and moving out of the door. I put it on and dashed to the black SUV. Everyone came rushing behind me. They were trying to talk to me but I blocked their voices from my mind. As I put my hand on the car door, a voice mind link in my head. I froze on the spot.

"Alpha"

I immediately recognized that voice.

"Jason"
