Chapter 7

~ Lafayette POV~

Laff headed towards the cafeteria at lunchtime. He knew that he was supposed to meet Angelica there, but he was worried. He hated not knowing what was about to happen. He wasn't proud of what he did next. He decided to talk to Angelica another day and went to the most secluded corner of the cafeteria to try to avoid her.

~ Eliza POV~

Eliza, her sisters, and Theo sat at lunch and discussed the notes. Angie seemed rather pissed at Laff for failing to meet her at the cafeteria. Peggy suggested that maybe he was late, but Angie just shook her head. Theo reported that Aaron had told her that it was a dare, and Peggy said that John had told her that the boys had been dared to leave notes in their crush's locker. Eliza grinned at her sisters and Theo.

" So does this mean that Laff likes Angie, John likes Peggy, and Aaron likes Theo?" She asked.

Theo, Angie, and Peggy blushed. Theo cleared her throat.

" But that also means that Alex likes you, Eliza." She said, obviously trying to change the subject.

Eliza shuddered.

" That," she declared, " is a truly horrid thought ,Theo,"

Even as she said it, her heart and mind were waging war with each other. Her heart told her to just come out and confess her feelings for Alex, but her mind argued, saying that it wasn't a good idea to be completely open like a book and to just wait and bide her time. Eliza listened to her mind rather than her heart, preferring to avoid the fray and do what she thought to be the smart or logical choice. Even though she knew that she had a crush on Alex, she also knew that she would never make the first move and that she wouldn't do anything if Alex happened to not like her back.

The girls wrapped up the conversation and headed back to class.
