Chapter 5

~Peggy POV~

After the three sisters rode the bus home, Eliza immediately withdrew to her bedroom. Peggy quietly followed her and knocked on the door. 

" Come in." Eliza told her.

Peggy entered her sister's bedroom and saw Eliza spread her homework on her bed and pulled out her laptop. 

" Um... are you hungry?" Peggy asked her sister. Eliza would normally eat a snack and hang out with her sisters before  starting on her homework.

Eliza shook her head and stared at the papers and books she had thrown on her bed. The two heard another knock on Eliza's door. Angelica poked her head in and Eliza nodded at her. Angelica made room for her to sit with her two younger sisters.

" What's going on?" Angelica asked Eliza.

" Nothing." Eliza murmured. " Just more homework than usual."

Peggy frowned at Angelica. She knew that Eliza was lying and that something had happened. 

" Theo's coming over soon, Eliza." Angelica said.

Eliza visibly perked up and nodded.

" Could you two and Theo help me with something?" Eliza asked. 

Peggy and Angelica nodded and the three of them went downstairs to wait for Theodosia to arrive.

~Eliza POV~

Eliza retreated to her room to study the two notes that were in her locker that day. She was about to take them out of her pocket when she heard Peggy's soft knocking on her door. Eliza had gotten pretty good at distinguishing one sister's knock from the other's.

" Come in." Eliza told her sister.

Peggy entered the room.

" Um... are you hungry?" she asked Eliza. 

Eliza shook her head. Angie then entered the room and told them that Theo was coming over soon. Eliza followed her sisters downstairs. I'll ask about the notes once Theo comes Eliza thought to herself.

Theo arrived soon after and Eliza pulled out the two notes. To Eliza's surprise, Angelica, Peggy, and Theo each pulled out one very similar to hers. Angie's had a heart on a red paper with the letter L on it. Peggy's was on yellow paper and had J.L. on it. Theo's note was marked A.B.

Eliza frowned. They had all received a note with a heart and some sort of letters on them. 

" Should we just ask the person with these initials if they know anything?" Theo asked.

" I'm down for doing that" Peggy said.

Eliza and Angelica agreed to that as well, and the four said that they would do it before lunch the next day. Eliza was going to ask Alexander Hamilton, Angie planned on asking Lafayette, Peggy was asking John Laurens, and Theo was questioning Aaron Burr.

The girls wrapped up their discussion and did homework together before Theo had to leave.
