The Beautifly and the Dustox [Wally x Reader]

STORYTIME!!!

Every Wurmple has two evolution paths: A Beautifly and a Dustox. Everybody assumes that being the Beautifly is always better and the Dustox is always worse when making the evolution pattern of the poor bug type into a metaphor, but is that really the case? If that metaphor stands then Wally is the gorgeous Beautifly soaring higher and higher in the silver wind and sunny day and you're the Poisonus Dustox leaving a trail of stun spore and poison powder wherever you go. Allow it to be said again: that's only how people interpret the metaphor.

"Hey Wally, are you sure you want to be around someone like me?"

You asked Wally. You were at Slateport city, sitting together on the dock. Kirlia was sitting right next to him and you had Seviper curled around the two of you. You met Wally a time the Pokémon Center back in Rustbro. He got beat by Roxanne, just like you. You saw him again are the Trainer's School and decided to talk to him. From there you stsrted tesining to be better. You both beat Roxanne and Wally asked you to accompany him on the rest of his Pokémon journey around Hoenn. You've become close, but you always felt something inside. You always felt like you were unworthy to be around Wally. He was so amazing, so adorable, and so respectable. Despite his physical ailments he strives to be the best that he he can be. He is constantly developing in his character and his abilities. He loves his Pokémon and he loves everyone. He is the very definition of an angel. So why would an angel be blessed to you anyways? You always felt like you didn't deserve Wally. Maybe you don't. Maybe you do. That's up to Wally to decide anyways.

"You're nice to me and you've always been a role model to me. You've helped me so much. I'm the one who should be asking that question to you!"

Wally blushed a bit, looking down at the ocean beneath his dangling feet. In the other persoective Wally always felt insignificant compared to you. You're the strongest trainer he knows! Back in Dewford town a bunch of bullies cornered him for being so frail and unmanly despite being a boy, but you and Seviper single-handedly wiped them out in a hoarde! You've always protected him and been by his side no matter how weak he was. Unlike everyone else he's ever known, you've never given up on him. Wally felt like he was just a burden to you. He felt like the shackles around your ankles preventing you from becoming something great: like a gym leader or elite four! It wouldn't be an exaggeration that Wally thought you could become the champion! Well, if Steven Stone's steel types weren't immune to your poison partners Seviper and Arbok. You could master the deadliest and most freaked of types and see the good in them. You see the good in people and Pokémon alike and never give up. Wally does much more than admire you. He loves you.

"Are you kidding me? You're the most determined person in the world! No matter how fragile the world made you, you keep fighting against it! Every day you prove to the entire world the truth you are better than some asthma or anxiety! Despite whatever ailment you have, your heart allows you to persevere! You're the most amazing person in the world!"

You felt your cheeks heat up after just blaring that out of nowhere. You watch Wally pull his eyes up from the water. His face was pink to match the complete red mess that your cheeks became. You averted your eyes from him. While this was going on Seviper lifted his head and shared a look with Kirlia. The two nodded and made a plan to set the mood. Kirlia hopped off the pier and used Heal Pulse on the ocean, causing the sunset to reflect in the fairy sparkle sky now added to the water. Seviper coiled himself around the two of you, bringing the two of you closer before you could realize it. Kirlia also used phsychic to move both of your hand so ontop of one another. All we need is a remix of a well-known Disney song to say boy instead of girl. Sha la la la la la my oh my looks like the friend's too shyness go on and kiss da boi.

"Wha? Nuh-uh! If anyone's the most amazing person in the world it's you! You're so compassionate and you never give up on anything! Unlike literally everyone else you believed in me! You believe there is good and something amazing inside of every person! I wouldn't be lying when I say that everyone could fall in love with you and you would be the best (boyfriend/girlfriend/lover) in the world because you would never give up on your partner!"

Wally's heart was pounding inside of his chest! Did he really just say that out loud?! Wally also looked away from you, focusing on the water. He saw Kirlia playing with it, using heal pulse. What was he doing? He tried to scoot back but he ran into Seviper! What were they doing?! Wally flusteredly looked back in your eyes, which were really close to him. Were you always that close to him?! Wally felt so hot. Was he going to pass out? He had mixed feeling about passing out right now.

"Wally, do you really think I could be that amazing in a relationship? Is this your way of asking me to date you?"

Wally bit his bottom lip. He squeezed his eyes shut and nodded. He expected to be slapped. He expected to be hated forever and ever. He expected you to never want to see him again. He expected everything to run entirely down the drain. All the moments you shared, all the laughs together, all just gone. But no. Wally opened his eyes when he felt your hands entwine themselves with his own. Were your hands always ontop of his? Wally stared in your eyes. You closed yours and pressed a kiss to his forehead. Wally felt so hot he was going to faint. Kirlia started clapping for some reason and an explosion of fair energy collided from using his dazzling gleam by accident instead of heal pulse. Seviper just cheered, since he has no arms to clap with. You smiled down at him before pecking his lips.

"Because the answer is yes."

Making this oneshot full circle, a Wurmple has two evolution paths. A Wurmple can evolve into either a Beautifly and a Dustox. In this case, Wally is your precious beauitful you soaring high and loved by everyone. You are the Dustox, the less popular evolution that everyone associates with being bad due to its poison type. This is not the case. It's all led to interpretation. How you see it is that the Beautifly and the Dustox are two different personalities. Together, they make the entire evolution chain of Wurmple. In the end, it's a relationship metaphor. Wally is the Beautifly to your Dustox.

And thats exactly how you want it to be.

Okay screw any self esteem and critique I have this is FLIPPING AWESOME!!! I'm so tempted to make a Pokémon save file where I use a Dustox and Seviper as my two main Pokémon probably with a Scraggy and Umbreon! This is awesome! And I don't care who says otherwise!
