Saying what's up/ asking how he or she is doing
1. 在干什么？Zài gàn shén me?
2. 你最近在做什么？ Nǐ zuì jìn zài zuò shénme?
What are you doing?
在干嘛？Zài gàn ma?
What do you think you want to do?
想干什么？Xiǎng gàn shén me?
你想干什么？Xiǎng gàn shén me?
Notes: Sometimes when you're talking to someone, you don't necessarily need to say the pronoun.
What are you thinking so seriously?
在想什么，想到那么入神？Zài xiǎng shénme, xiǎng dào nàme rùshén?
你这么认真在想什么？Nǐ zhème rènzhēn zài xiǎng shénme?
