Yes

一   是 shì

Meaning: yes /right ; a to-be verb

First, 'yes' here is used to confirm. A simple answer to check things and ascertain things.

Example 1:

Qǐngwèn shì lín xiānshēng ma?

Shì de, shì.
Yes, I am Mr. Lin.

Example 2:

Bīngxiāng de niúnǎi shì shuí wán de?
Who drank all the milk in the fridge?

Shì Angel ( wán de).
Angel did.

Here the response isn't a direct yes, but it directed to the culprit with the word yes in to-be function.

二   对 duì

Meaning: yes/ right

三   没错 meí cuò

Meaning: That's right (although the literal translation is 'not wrong').

I combined the two in the explanation, so you guys won't be confuse.

Second and third way had some same scenario that come in handy and it totally depends on your own preference.

#1 Asking of identity

Example:

Qǐngwèn shì lín xiānshēng ma?
Excuse me, are you Mr. Lin?

Duì/ Méi cuò, shì
Yes, I am.

#2 Opinion exchange

It is frequently used for this scenario. 对/没错 are used to support one's opinion and that you agree with them.

Example:

Zhè jiàn yīfú zhēn hǎokàn.
This dress is nice.
