Through her closed eyelids Jennifer still felt the bright sun rays shining through her bedroom window. She opened her eyes and blinked a couple of times. She must had forgotten to close the blinds the night before. As her vision started to focus she could see the beautiful California beach view through the window. She would never get tried of the beach. Jennifer rolled over on her bed to face the opposite direction. When She turned around she was surprised to come face to face with gorgeous ocean blue eyes. "Morning love," Jennifer instantly smiled. Colin and Jennifer had been living together for two years now and every day he still managed to make her stomach flutter.
"How long have you been awake?" Jennifer asked stroking his bare arm.
"Not long," he replied. Jennifer could tell that he was lying, but she was glad that he let her sleep in.
"Happy anniversary!" Jennifer pressed her lips onto his. Today they were celebrating their second anniversary, but it felt like they had been together for years.
"Happy anniversary baby," Colin mumbled between kisses.
"So..." Jennifer trailed off. She wanted to know what the plan for the day was. Last year Colin had taken her out to dinner at Madeo. It was her favourite Italian restaurant. They had also gone there for their first date when they got back together.
"I made a reservation at Madeo," Colin said reading her mind, as Jennifer was craving spaghetti bolognese.
"Yum can't wait," Jennifer imagined her favourite dish. She was practically drooling. Their conversation was then interrupted because their bed started to bounce up and down.
"Dad, Mom I am hungry!" Jennifer and Colin both sat up. Evan was at the end of their bed smiling. It still shocked Jennifer every time Evan called her Mom. She would always treasure the memory of the first time he called her Mom instead of Auntie Jennifer.

Jennifer, Colin and Even were at Disneyland for Evan's tenth birthday. Colin was exhausted and didn't want to go on any more rides. He was trying to convince Evan to take a lunch break. However, Evan insisted that he ride California Scream, as the line up was short. "Please Dad," he begged, "Just one more ride."
"Evan I don't really want to go on another ride," Colin said.
"Mom and I can go on it," Jennifer looked at Evan stunned. She must had heard him wrong.
"I mean Aunty Jen and I," Evan corrected himself.
"No Evan it's ok... you can call Jennifer Mom if you wish," Colin said.
"Umm... sure. Come on Mom let's go," Evan grabbed Jennifer's hand and pulled her towards the twisting roller coaster. There was a short line up before they boarded. Both Jennifer and Evan waited in silence. Jennifer's mind was still running wild from what Evan had said. They got strapped into the ride and then they were off. The ride then paused before accelerating onto the track.
"It's ok if you don't want to call me Mom. I don't want to pressure you or anything," Jennifer stuttered.
"I want to," Evan looked over at her through the harness, and then they were off. Speeding through the sky.

"What do you want for breakfast?" Jennifer asked crawling out of the warm covers.
"Waffles!" Evan cheered.
"Not pancakes?" Jennifer questioned. Evan always asked for pancakes.
"Aunty Evie made me waffles the other day and they were so good," Evan said.
"Ok then, waffles it is," Jennifer put on her fluffy white robe that Colin gave her for her birthday and then headed to the kitchen. Jennifer got out the pancake mix and the milk. Evan measured the pancake mix while Jennifer poured the milk into the bowl. Then she let Evan combine the ingredients while she searched for the waffle machine. She rummaged through the cupboards looking for the waffle maker. She hadn't made waffles in ages. Did she even bring the waffle machine to LA? Maybe Colin brought a waffle machine when he and Evan moved in.
"Jen it's over here," Colin opened the pantry. Jennifer looked over at Colin. He had the machine in his hand and was setting it down on the table.
"Thank you," Jennifer kissed him on the cheek. "Ok buddy come here and we can pour the batter in together," Jennifer said. She held the bowl while Evan poured the batter into the waffle maker. "Perfect! Now we just wait for it to beep," Jennifer said. Colin went to get the plates and Evan sat patiently playing a game on his phone.

The last two years had been wonderful. Jennifer had spent so much time alone and now she had a family. She couldn't imagine her life without Colin or Evan. After Helen's funeral things between her and Colin had moved fast. Colin had needed some time to himself, so Jennifer had volunteered to take care of Evan whenever he needed. Evan and her soon became really close. Jennifer and Colin went on a couple a dates, but they were both getting older and they knew what they wanted. They were comfortable with each other, so they decided to move in together. Evie and Daniel were thinking about moving in together too, so it was all perfect timing. Colin and Evan would move in with Jennifer and Evie and Daniel would move into Colin's apartment.
"So I am gonna go shopping with Evie and then we are gonna get our nails done. I guess I will see you at the restaurant?" Jennifer said.
"Ok sounds good. The reservation is for 8:00," Colin replied. "Looks like it's just you and me today," Colin said to Evan.
"Can we go bowling? Or how about laser tag?" Evan said his eyes beaming.
"Sure bud whatever you like," Colin smiled.

"How about this dress?" Evie held up a long silky red dress.
"Too formal," Jennifer said. They were trying to find the perfect dress for Jennifer and Colin's anniversary dinner.
"This one?" Evie showed her a white cocktail dress.
"I like it," Jennifer took the dress in her hands. "But it's white... I will probably get it dirty," Jennifer frowned.
"I think white is the perfect colour for tonight," Evie smirked.
"What do you mean?" Jennifer questioned.
"Oh my gosh Jen! It's obvious that he is gonna propose tonight," Evie gushed. Jennifer and Colin had never discussed getting married. "He's taking you to your favourite restaurant-"
"We went there last year for our anniversary," Jennifer protested.
"You guys have been living together for two years and Evan calls you mom. You guys are practically married already," Evie said. "He is destined to tie the knot soon. Tonight would be the perfect night. You better be prepared," Evie continued. Was Evie right? Would Colin propose to her tonight?
