"Evie wake up!" Evan yelled knocking on her and Daniels room. Why was he up so early? Evie rolled over to face the clock that read 11:00. She jumped out of bed and opened the door.
"Oh my gosh, sorry Evan. Daniel didn't wake me up," Evie apologized.
"I'm hungry," he complained.
"Ok I will make breakfast," Evie yawned. She went to the kitchen and opened the refrigerator. There were three eggs, a slice of pizza and a bowl of pasta. Evie made a mental note to go to the grocery store soon to restock their depleted stash. She grabbed the egg carton and took out a frying pan.
"Are scrambled eggs ok?" Evie asked.
"Sure," Evan said watching her every move.
"Pancakes too?" Evie asked.
"I don't like pancakes," he pouted.
"Yes you do your mom always makes them for me," Evie said he words carefully. She needed to test the situation before she could uncover his true feelings.
"Jennifer likes them not me. Can we have waffles?" Evan asked. He had said her name as if he was disgusted. What was triggering these emotions? Evan had always loved Jennifer even when her and Colin first started dating again after Helen died.
"Ok then waffles it is," Evie smiles warmly. She didn't want to push him too hard.

"We should get back to the list," Jennifer got out of bed and put on one of Colin's long sleeved shirts. His smell surrounded her providing her with immediate comfort. It felt like his arms were still around her. It made getting up slightly better.
"I like it much better here," Colin stretched out on the bed. Jennifer pulled on a new pair of panties and then threw his jeans at him.
"Come on babe we need to finish this list," Jennifer said seriously.
"Ok, ok," he put on his pants then kissed her on the cheek. They went back out to the living room and returned to Jennifer's laptop.

"Would it be ok if I invited some of my house co stars?" Jennifer asked.
"Who do you want to invite?" He questioned.
"Lisa, Hugh, and maybe Jesse," Jennifer said.
"Jesse?" Colin wasn't sure how he felt about Jennifer inviting her ex.
"Colin we have dinner with him and Maya all the time," Jennifer said. After Jesse finished Chicago fire him and Maya moved to LA. Every once in a while Jennifer and Colin would go out to dinner with them. Jennifer and Jesse would always be great friends. He was her first real love, and she would always have a special connection to him even if it wasn't in a romantic way.
"I know it's just he's your ex," Colin said.
"He's also my friend," Jennifer said.
"Ok then," Colin said. Jennifer tapped on her keyboard adding his name to the list.
"I would be fine if you invited an ex," as soon as the words slipped out of her mouth she regretted them. The only ex Colin had was Helen. "Sorry I..." she stumbled on her words.
"It's ok," Colin forced a smile.

While Evan ate breakfast Evie texted Lana. They were going to play laser tag. It was all part of Lana and Evie's plan to help Evan. It was just gonna be Evie, Evan, Lana and Fred since Daniel had work. Evie had taken a couple of days off so that she could take care of Evan and Fred had traveled back to LA with them. It seemed like Lana and Fred were just picking up from where they left off before things started to get bad. Evie and Evan were going to meet Lana and Fred at the laser tag place. Evie and Lana hoped that if Evan was doing something he enjoyed he might spill some of his feelings.
"Thank you for breakfast," Evan said,
"Your welcome buddy. Just leave the plate here and go get changed," Evie said. She had always admired how polite he was. That's why it was so odd that he was being so rude to Jennifer all of a sudden. Evie cleaned up the dishes and continue to text Lana. They needed to have a plan for attack. Jennifer's dress fitting was in three days, which meant they only had three days to help Evan. Hopefully they would make lots of progress today.

When they arrived at the laser tag place they were welcomed by the blaring noise of kids screaming at the top of their lungs. A young boy who looked a little younger than Evan ran right in front of them making Evie step backwards. She was already starting to regret this. "Finally you guys are here," Lana treaded her way through the sea of kids. "I already paid let's go gear up," Lana said. She lead them to the game area entrance. Their bulky vests and their guns were waiting for them on hangers. Evie helped Evan wiggle into his vest, then it was time for battle. There were about twenty other people in the room with them and they were randomly divided into teams. Evie and Fred were on the blue team and Lana and Evan were on the red team. An electronic voice said, "Go," and they all ran into the dimly lit play area. Their vests came to life displaying the colour of their team. For the next thirty minutes they ran around frantically shooting their lasers at anyone on the opposite teams. This vests buzzed and lit up with joy each time they hit someone on the opposite team. At the end of the game they were all exhausted. Therefore, they decided to go to a nearby restaurant to grab a bite to eat.

Evie and Lana talked about Jennifer and Colin's wedding as they waited for their food.
"Have you found a florist?" Evie asked.
"Maybe it's been kinda hard since I need to find one in Vancouver," Lana said.
"Jennifer told me to just take care of the food, but I have no idea what kind of food people serve at a wedding," Evie said.
"Maybe just book a caterer and then we can do a food testing," Lana suggested.
         "Good idea!" Evie said.
"Are you excited to wear a suit?" Lana asked Evan trying to rope him into the conversation.
"I have worn a suit before," Evan said. He was talking about Helen's funeral.
"I think you will need to get a new one," Evie said, "You have grown so much."
"I don't want to wear a suit..." Evan said. "I don't want Jennifer and dad to get married," he continued. The whole table went silent.
        "Why not?" Evie questioned.
"I don't think mom would want this," Evan said.
"You mom loved Jennifer," Lana didn't really know if that was true, but she needed to say something encouraging.
"You know I hardly remember my mom. All of my memories are of Jen. What if I forget about mom," Evan said.
"Oh honey, you will always remember your mom in here," Lana pointed to her heart,
"I promise you," she smiled weakly. Evan didn't look that convinced. He was clearly hurting, Lana and Evie looked at each other blankly. Neither of them knew what to do next. It seemed like the only option they had was to tell Jennifer and Colin.
