The Perfect Wedding

Chapter 11

       After they got their passes Evan went straight for the rides. He rushed over to the Beast. It was a large pendulum ride that spun at the same time. Jennifer and Colin weren't keen on going on the ride, so Lana and Fred went on it with him. The line up for the ride seemed to be quite lengthy, so Jennifer and Colin decided to go get a snack.

     "What would you like?" Colin asked.

      "Cotton candy," Jennifer smiled guiltily. Her and Colin always tried to cook healthy food. Evan always complained, as his friends always got to eat whatever they wanted, so Jennifer and Colin agreed that they could have one cheat day once a week. "What are you getting?" Jennifer asked.

      "Mini doughnuts," Colin replied.

      "We should get some popcorn for Evan," Jennifer suggested.

      "Good idea," Colin said and stepped up to the trailer window to order their food. After they received their food they went back to the Beast. Jennifer spotted Evan, Lana and Fred boarding the ride.

      "So what's up with Fred and Lana?" Colin asked.

      "I went to see him with her yesterday, and I think they are back together," Jennifer said. Lana had texted Jennifer last night telling her that things between her and Fred were solved. Jennifer hadn't asked if they were officially together, but by the looks they kept giving each other, it seemed like things were back on track.

      "That's great!" Colin said.

      "Seems like everyone is getting their happily ever after their trip," Jennifer joked.

      "The wooden roller coaster was crazy. You guys have to go on it," Evie exclaimed.

      "Yeah it was pretty crazy," Daniel confirmed. Jennifer wondered if Evie had told Daniel about her kiss with Jared. However, things between them seemed to be pretty normal, so Jennifer inferred that she hadn't told him. Last night Jennifer told Evie that she had to tell him, she hoped that Evie would take her advice, as secrets are never a good thing.

      "Wanna go on the music ride with us?" Evie asked.

      "We are waiting for Evan, Lana and Fred," Jennifer motioned to the Beast.

      "Ok, after they are done we can all go together," Evie said.

      "Sounds good," Jennifer said then stuffed a piece of pink fluffy cotton candy into her mouth. They all watched as Evan, Lana and Fred spun back and forth up in the air. Jennifer took out her phone from her purse and zoomed in on the ride to look for them. When her camera was in focus she snapped a few pictures. Even from the ground, Jennifer could see Evan screaming and smiling brightly.

      "Mom did you see me?" Evan asked skipping towards them.

      "Yes I did honey," Jennifer showed him the pictures.

      "Awesome! My friends in LA are gonna be so jealous," Evan said swiping through the pictures. Colin handed Evan his popcorn then they were off to the music ride. Evan walked with Colin, Daniel and Fred while the girls walked a little ways behind them. Jennifer wanted to talk to Evie, and she brought Lana for backup.

      "Why haven't you told Daniel yet?" Jennifer asked when the boys were further ahead of them.

      "I just haven't found the right moment," Evie said.

      "Evie the longer you wait the worst it will get," Lana added.

      "You told her!" Evie yelled at Jennifer.

      "I am worried Evie," Jennifer said.

      "Jen is right Daniel deserves to know," Lana said.

       "He won't care... I don't know if I need to tell him," Evie stuttered.

      "Keeping it from him will just hurt him," Jennifer warned. She was horrified by the fact that Evie wanted to keep a secret from Daniel. Good thing she brought Lana

      "Daniel doesn't deserve this," Lana gave Evie a hard stare. 

      "Fine I will tell him tonight," Evie gave into them. She knew that they were right, but she was slightly afraid of how Daniel would react. She was happy with the way things were going and she didn't want to ruin that. Nothing would ever happen between her and Jared again, so was there really any point of telling him about the kiss? What he didn't know couldn't hurt him. 

      "Mom hurry up!" Evan yelled as him, Colin, Daniel, and Fred neared the lineup. Jennifer, Lana and Evie started to pick up their pace to meet them. As they got closer they could hear the blaring music from the ride. Small two person cars whizzed around in circles. The passengers yelled in excitement. Jennifer watched as the ride started to slow down. There were twelve cars which meant around twenty-four people could ride on it. Jennifer count the people in the line in front of them, there would be enough carts for all of her friends. Jennifer boarded a cart with Colin, Evie with Evan, Lana with Fred and Daniel rode alone. They all sang along to their favoruite songs as they spun around. Evan screamed wanting to go faster. Jennifer was having trouble not squishing Colin. As they sped around in circles all of the people on the left-hand side of the car slid towards the person on the right. Colin laughed as Jennifer held onto the bar prying herself off of him. After two songs the ride halted to a stop. 

      "Wow that was something," Jennifer said out of breath. 

      "Can we go on Atmosphere?" Evan asked. 

      "Sure! How about if Aunty Lana and Uncle Fred take you? Dad, Evie, Daniel and I will go save seats at the dog show," Jennifer sugested. 

      "Ok let's go," Evan took Lana's hand and dragged her towards the ride. 

       Jennifer, Colin, Evie and Daniel left playland and headed towards the arena to the dog show. Evie and Daniel decided to check out the barn to look at the farm animals, so Jennifer and Colin walked alone. 

      "This has been fun," Colin said. 

       "Yeah, Evan is having a great time," Jennifer remembered the huge smile on his face. 

       "We need to take more vacations," Colin put his arm around her.

      'Yes we do. Maybe we could go somewhere just the two of us for our honeymoon," Jennifer smirked. 

      "That sounds fun," Colin raised an eyebrow. Whenever he gave her that look Jennifer always felt weak. Jennifer stopped walking and put her lips on his. All of the crowds of people disappeared and it was just Jennifer and Colin. Her lips tasted sweet from cotton candy making her even more irresistible. Jennifer pulled away from the kiss with a smile on her face. Kissing him would never get old.
