Fred's condo seemed very bare. It was small, but there was no colour or personality in the place. Fred and Lana sat down at the square kitchen table. There were only two seats so Jennifer sat on the sofa. Jennifer was slightly relieved as she could still be there to support Lana, but she wouldn't be participating in the conversation. Jennifer took out her phone to scroll through Instagram to kill time. Last night at the party she posted a picture of her ring and another picture with her old cast mates to announce her and Colin's engagement. Her phone was buzzing with multiple notifications. There were hundreds of comments congratulating them.
"I've missed you," Jennifer heard Fred say.
"You broke up with me," Lana said sternly. Why was Lana being so harsh. Jennifer could tell that she wants him back.
"I know and it was a mistake," he whispered so quietly that Jennifer thought he had heard him wrong.
"I'm not sure what you want me to say Fred. You haven't called me since we got our divorce and now and tell me that you want me back," Lana said.
"I am sorry Lana. I am sorry for everything. I shouldn't have said anything," Fred stuttered.
"No you were right to say something because I feel the same way too," Lana sighed. "I haven't been able to move on from you because well... I think I still love you," she continued. Jennifer was so proud of Lana. Her and Fred were good together. Hopefully they could work things out.
Evie's mind was telling her to pull away from the kiss, but her body wouldn't listen. She kissed Jared back. Something about the kiss seemed right. She didn't want to stop. However, Jared pulled away from her,
"I am sorry. I shouldn't have done that. You have a boyfriend," Jared said.
"I...I..." Evie stuttered and touched her lips.
"It's ok let's just forget about it. Come on I will take you back to the hotel," Jared started to walk towards the car. Evie didn't want to forget the kiss she wanted to tell him that she enjoyed the kiss. She wanted to tell him that she was attracted to him, but she said no such thing. Instead she followed him to the car."So are we gonna give this a second shot?" Fred rubbed Lana's hand.
"Yes we are," she smiled. Lana leaned over the table toward him and placed her lips on his.
"How long are you in town for?" Fred asked.
"I leave in two days?" Lana said.
"Wanna go out for dinner tomorrow?" Fred proposed.
"Sure. That sounds great!" Lana smiled. Lana and Fred where looking at each other longingly.
"Umm can we go now?" Jennifer walked up to Lana.
"Yeah sure," Lana said not really paying attention.
"I will just call a cab for myself. You can stay here with Fred," Jennifer said.
"O...K," Lana said still not looking at her. She wished that Colin had rented a car. She was spending so much time in cabs and it was starting to add up. Vancouver didn't have Uber which meant the only form of transportation was a taxi or transit. Jennifer wasn't very familiar with the transit system, as when she used to film Once Upon A Time she always drove her car and when she was with Colin he drive his. Jennifer continued to surf on her phone while she waited for the taxi. She decided to text Colin to see how his day with Evan was going. Within no time he messaged back with a selfie of him, Evan and Daniel. Jennifer didn't know that Daniel went with them. She wondered where Evie was.Once Jennifer got back to the hotel she went straight to her room. Colin had called her when she was in the taxi telling her that they wouldn't be back until dinner time. What was Jennifer going to do for the rest of the day? She then remembered that Evie wasn't with the boys. She texted her asking her where she was. She replied back quickly which was surprising as she normally never replied back.
Where are you?
At the hotel
Me too. Wanna go out?
Not really
I am coming to your room.
Jennifer walked down the hallway to Daniel and Evie's room. Colin had requested for rooms on the same floor. Jennifer knocked on the door and waited for her to answer. It seemed to take her a long time, so Jennifer knocked again impatiently.
"Sorry I was taking a shower," Evie said. She wanted to wash the kiss away. She wanted to wash Jared away. She couldn't deal with this right now. Her and Daniel were getting pretty serious. She didn't want to loose him. However she also didn't want to loose Jared again.
"Are you ok ? You don't look so good," Jennifer said. The outside of Evie appeared to be normal however, Jennifer could tell by something in her eyes that something was wrong. Evie didn't answer her, but opened the door wider signally for her to enter. "What's wrong?" Jennifer asked when she was inside and Evie had closed the door.
"Jared kissed me," Evie spit out.
"Wait what?" Jennifer said shocked. "When did you even see him?" She asked.
"This morning," Evie said.
"Ok tell me the whole story," Evie explained everything to Jennifer. She told her all about the diner an everything Jared said.
"Wow did he really say those things?" Jennifer said surprised. Jared wasn't great at expressing himself. It must have been hard for him to say all those things to Evie.
"Yes he did. I feel so bad Jennifer," Evie sighed.
"Why? You didn't do anything wrong," Jennifer said.
"Jen I enjoyed the kiss. I...I wanted more," Evie confessed.
"What about Daniel?" Jennifer asked.
"I love him. I have always loved him but-"
"Evie you and Daniel have something good going. You shouldn't risk that. You may think that Jared is a good guy, but honestly who knows... he has grown up, you have grown up. I might have thought that you guys should be cute together when you guys were kids, but you have both changed so much. I don't want you to throw away a good relationship for something that might not work out," Jennifer interrupted her. What Jennifer said was right, she needed to forget about Jared. Daniel was a good guy. They were good together. She was happy with him. He was good enough.Hope you enjoyed the chapter! Please vote and comment.
