"Come on youngsters," Pops urged the search party onwards as he exited the air vents they had been traveling in. The group found themselves on a rooftop. "Aren't we supposed to be heading to the sewers?" Chloe whispered to Gidget, who also seemed confused. Sweetpea started to chirp something that sounded harsh. "What'd he say?" Ozone asked, looking over at Mel and Buddy for an answer. Sadly, they didn't know. However, Tiberius did hear. Covering Norman's ears, he glared at the parakeet as he hissed, "Language!"
"Does the little bird have something he wants to say to his elder?" Pops asked, giving Sweetpea a look that seemed to beg the parakeet to repeat what he said. Gulping, Sweetpea shook his head. Nodding his head, Pops looked up at a gray and white tabby cat basking in the sun on a solar panel. "Lower the ramp dummy!" he ordered.
"Hey Pops," the cat mumbled sleepily, "Who the heck are these people?"

Gidget stepped forward to introduce the group to the feline but Pops interrupted her, "This is Puffball..." Gidget looked at the elderly basset hound with shock.
"Squash Face..."
Mel's face turned to confusion.
"Hairless..."
Ozone hissed.

"Weiner Dog..."
Buddy silently scowled at Pops.
"Yellow Bird..."
Sweetpea chirped happily.
"Eagle Eye..."
Tiberius puffed his chest out proudly.
"And Guinea Pig Joe."
Norman laughed, pleased with his name. Chloe knew she was next.
Turning his head towards Chloe, Pops concluded, "And this beautiful angel standing right beside me is my girlfriend Rhonda." Everyone's jaws dropped. Rolling her eyes, Chloe pointed out, "You are so wrong on so many levels." Pops just winked at her.

"If they kiss, I'm gonna puke," Ozone grumbled.
"Alright, I guess that works," the cat murmured, lowering the solar panel. Strolling up to it while the feline walked away, Pops called over his shoulder, "Whatcha youngsters waiting for, an engraved invitation?"
"Guys, literally all my bird instincts are flashing a giant neon sign at me and it's saying to not follow dogs on wheels," Tiberius whispered.
"Mr. Pops sir, what are we doing on a rooftop?" Gidget asked.
"There are two ways to get to the sewers Puffball," Pops explained, "One is the human route. That's gonna take days. You guys have lots of time left... except for maybe Hairless and Eagle Eye."
"WHAT?!" Ozone exclaimed.
"However, literally every breath I take could very well be my..." Pops stopped in midsentence as his mouth hung open lightly and his eyes widened. The animals stared at him, expecting him to drop down dead. However, he finished, "Last." Chloe huffed, scowling.
Clearing his throat, Pops concluded, "The other way, the one we're taking, is the secret route..." As he was saying this, he was backing up on the solar panel. Suddenly, before anyone could do anything, his wheel slipped over the edge and the next thing anybody knew, Pops had fallen off the building with a loud yelp...
