"He is coming back, right?" Gidget asked as the pets lounged around the rooftop, looking awfully bored. Mel and Buddy were watching clouds while Sweetpea was taking a nap. Chloe was scowling in the one corner of the rooftop, her tail twitching repeatedly with irritation. Gidget was on the edge of the roof searching the skies. Norman was beside her.

"Have faith, he'll come back soon. Tiberius always does," Norman said reassuringly. Gidget looked down at the young guinea pig as she commented, "You two sound pretty close now. How did that happen?"

Thinking quietly for a moment, Norman recalled, "About two weeks ago, I was wandering around the air vents when I arrived on the roof in the middle of the night during a thunderstorm. Seeing the shed, I walked in and found him all by himself, so I decided to keep him company. He did wake up and tried to eat me but he got tangled up in his chain and almost choked himself to death." Sighing, he continued, "I couldn't leave him there like that so I freed him. He's really just someone who's misunderstood and judged on his appearance rather than his personality."

"Never judge a book by its cover, judge it by its pages," Gidget quoted. Chloe rolled her eyes when she heard that.

"Duck!" Mel cried, jumping to his feet. Looking up, Buddy saw a bird flying towards them. Turning to Mel, he muttered, "That's not a duck, it's a HAWK!"

Turning to Mel, he muttered, "That's not a duck, it's a HAWK!"
