"Come on guys, don't be shy," Buddy called down. The dachshund had led them into an alley, a dead end according to Chloe, and had climbed up various objects to get on a fire escape right outside a window. "You want us to follow your exact path?!" Mel replied. Everyone had their heads craned back as they gazed up at the dachshund. Rolling his eyes, Buddy answered, "Of course not!"
"Then what?! You want us to grow wings?!" Chloe hissed. Huffing in annoyance, she went to get up on her paws and leave when a staircase leading up to the fire escape dropped down. The small search party looked up at Buddy, who had a smirk on his face. "Let's go everyone," Gidget encouraged the group, climbing up.
Once everyone was up, Buddy gestured to the open window. "Ladies first," he remarked, smiling at Gidget and Chloe. The tabby rolled her green eyes while Gidget dipped her head in gratitude. After the girls had entered, the guys followed to find an apartment littered with animals. The group stood there speechless for a few seconds.
"Have you ever seen this many animals?" Gidget whispered, not sure of where to look first.
"Yeah, I have," Ozone mumbled, his eyes wide open with awe as he added, "But not in an apartment."
"I think this is paradise," Chloe commented, a faint smile on her face. Sweetpea chirped in agreement.
"I second that," Mel replied.
"This is heaven," Norman squeaked, his eyes filled with wonder.
"This is a buffet," Tiberius murmured quietly, his tongue hanging out. Hearing the hawk, everyone looked over at him in shock.
