"EAGLE!" Duke cried, turning to run. However, he tripped over his own feet and fell to the ground, almost landing on Max in the process. Luckily, Max managed to get out of the way in time. Frightened, the Jack Russell terrier hid behind Chloe. The tabby cat quickly shoved him forward as she hissed, "Chill, will ya?! It's just Gidget and her friend the pigeon." She had finished saying that just as the bird landed.
"Hawk," the bird growled, correcting both Duke and Chloe.

"I'm pretty sure they didn't mean it Tiberius," a voice spoke behind the hawk. A moment later, a familiar Pomeranian hopped off his back. Max's jaw dropped as he mumbled, "Gidget?" Shuffling her foot nervously, Gidget smiled faintly, "Hey Max." A slight blush appeared on her face. Silence joined the group on the sidewalk.
"This is awkward," the hairless cat murmured.
"I agree with you Ozone," Buddy replied. Sweetpea chirped while Mel stepped forward and piped up, "It was Gidget's idea to find you."
"It was?" Max murmured, surprised. He turned to look at Gidget, who had bowed her head. Ears flattened with embarrassment, she quietly nodded her head before mumbling, "I noticed that you were missing and... well..." The fluffy white Pomeranian was lost for words. Mouth dry, Max took a small step forward to say something but he was also speechless.

An idea popped into Duke's head which made him smile. He quietly snuck up behind Max. The same idea seemed to come to Tiberius. Ever so gently, the old hawk nudged Gidget forward. Simultaneously, Duke pushed his brother towards Gidget without warning. Both the Pomeranian and the Jack Russell terrier bumped into each other, their noses touching. Gidget's eyes widened while Max's face turned a bright red color.
"Uh, hi..." Max mumbled, finding his tongue. "Hey..." Gidget's voice squeaked a little. The two dogs stood there, unsure of what to do.
"I am a genius," Duke remarked.
