Chapter 2 - Maria

"Halt!" Alpha Pixis raises his arm to signal our horses. "We have arrived in Maria!" We stood upon an elevated hill, where we could sight a old, run-down town below.

"Eh? Are you serious? This is where we're gonna settle in?" Says Jean, obnoxiously, as always.

"It's better than nothing, I guess." Says Armin with a pathetic smile. *sniff sniff* "Hey, do you guys smell that? It's smells like.. Meat."

"Now that you mention it.." Says Jean. We look below and notice smoke coming from a small pub.

"Hey, let's check it out." Suddenly, Sasha pops up and looks over from Jeans shoulder.

"MEAT! MEAT! MEAT!" She exclaims drooling all over Jean.

"Hey! Get off me you idiot!" Jean says shoving Sasha over.

"Now, now," says the Alpha. "We're all hungry from that long trip. Let's go eat."

"YAY!"

When they arrived at the pub, two men welcomed us. "Welcome!" Mikasa, Armin, and I waved hello.

"Oh, are you guys new to town? I've never seen your faces before." Says the bartender.

"Yeah, we're moving in." I say looking at the grill. It seems like they were cooking steak.

"Oh, I'm Eld, the bartender here. And this is Gunter, the cook."

"Sup," says the man flipping over the steak. "Here, it's on the house." He hands Armin, Mikasa, and I a whole grilled steak.

"Wow!" Sasha exclaims from behind Armin. "How about me?"

"Haha, okay, one for the bright young lady!" Says Gunther.

"Hey, don't go forgetting about us!" Says Jean, along with the rest of the group trailing behind him.

"Oh, so you guys are that new group that was moving in. I was scared they were gonna be an annoying group of merchants." Says Eld, handing all of us a glass of water.

"Hey! Boy! Gimme some more of your special booze!" Says the Alpha waving his glass in the air. *hiccup* "Hurry up!" *hiccup*

"Yes, yes." Says Eld preparing another glass.

We spent hours at the pub. Just having fun, singing jigs, eating meat, and having a lot more to drink. While Jean, Marco, and Armin started to sing, The Wheels on the Bus" I walk outside to take a breather. The moon was shining bright, it was beautiful. I wish more nights were like this.

"Yo, Eren." It was Hannes, I guess you could call him the "Vice Alpha".

"What are you doing out here? The party's in there." He says taking a sip of his beer.

"Just taking a breather." As Hannes stood behind me, I could hear everybody else joining in with Jean singing.

"Yeah, tonight's moon is beautiful, isn't it?" *hiccup*

"Hey, Hannes, do you think we'll be able to live peacefully here in this town? I just don't want anything else to happen."

"Well, it is a cute little town. It's quiet, not many people around, far from that other place. That's a good thing, right?"

"I guess. I'm just worried about the clan. I.. I just don't want to lose my family again.."

Hannes walks up to me and gives me a big pat on the back. "You worry to much, it'll be fine. As long as we support and protect each other."

"I.. I will kill them all.. I WILL EXTERMINATE THE VAMPIRES!"

"Woah, slow down, kid."

"How can all you guys be calm?! All our real families have been killed because of them!"
