Chapter 6 - His Eyes

"Eren.." Mikasa says gripping my shoulder. I slowly turn my head around and try to calm her down. But before I could say a word her death glare shot right through me.

"Y-yes?!" My voice was high pitched.

"Explain yourself!" She tightens her grip on my shoulder.

"Ow! F-fine.." I grumble.

After waving goodbye to the old lady, I walk over to the bench where everybody else was sitting. I sit on the opposite side of the bench, avoiding Mikasa's gaze.

"So, who's the lucky girl?" Armin asks while munching on a piece of bread.

"Wow, Jaeger, I can't believe you actually got a girlfriend. She must be as idiotic as you." Jean says with a laugh.

"I-I already told you s-she's not my girlfriend. She's just a girl I accidentally bumped into. That's all."

"Then why did you have to spend a whole day with her?" Mikasa asks playing with an orange in her hand.

"Well, when we collided, I stepped on her robe and ruined it. I felt really bad so I took her out with me to the shop."

"I see. That makes sense. Don't worry Mikasa, he was just being nice." Armin says patting her on the back. Mikasa looks away from me.

"A-and, what was the old lady saying about a g-gift?" Mikasa asks me, slightly blushing.

"Oh, well since she was visiting Maria and was leaving in a couple of days I decided to give her a souvenir of some sort.."

Jean clicks his tongue. "Heh, I bet you were just flirting with her."

"I-I was not!" My face turns bright red as I stammered. Jean and Armin laugh at my reaction as Mikasa blankly stares at me.

"We should get going." Mikasa stood up and flicked her orange into a trash can.

"Sure." The four of us grab some grocery bags and head back to the motel.

Petra's POV

The other day was kinda confusing. I wanted to ask more questions about my father but there was never an opportunity to meet with the Fuher again. Or I could ask that witch. I doubt she's around though.. *sigh*

"I guess I'll have to wait till dinner.." I leaned on the edge of my window to look at the view of the mountains. Down below, you could see the whole town of Maria. A memory of Eren popped in my head.

I wonder what he's doing right now...

I thought, twirling the ruby pendant with my finger. As I let out another long sigh, I heard a knock at my door. I wonder who it is..? "Who is it?"

"It's me, princess."

I open the door and find Oluo standing right in front of me. "I came here to deliver a message from the Fuher."

"Yes?"

"Dinner will begin at 6 PM. The dining hall is just across the throne room. I'm also supposed to tell you that the prince is coming, so you must dress properly."

"What?! Levi is coming? Why?"

"I'm not sure. Maybe it's got to do with the recent reports..."

"What reports?"

"Anyways, your questions will be answered tonight. Until then, you are free to roam around as you please."

"Ah, ok.."
